Cake is a lie
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok,so I'm going to give myself the official PS3 wireless stereo headset for Christmas and need a little feedback from you guys. I understand Turtle Beaches,Astros, etc have better headsets. I just think the $100 price and being an official product makes this a good buy. I'm not asking for a review on the headset but actual feedback on MW3 soundwhoring :carling: . Here are my questions for owners of ANY Stereo gaming HEADSET Not a bluetooth or the Xbox Live mic lol.

1. Would you say the headset gives you a huge advantage?

2. Do you get more complaints(ie: camper, hacker etc) since if you hear a guy following you in a room you might turn and prone to kil him. I can imagine the 3 secs you waited to kill a guy YOU KNOW was coming turns into "oh you're waiting for people you camping asshole" lol.

3. Does chatting in game afect your ability to hear footstep, gunshot, reload, etc sounds significantly?

4. Would you say Dead Silence's silent footsteps is more useful or Sitrep Pro's 4 times louder footsteps? I'm not concerned with Sitrep's ability to see equipment nor Dead Silence Pro's no fall damage. Strictly your footsteps silent or enemy footsteps 4x louder?

Obviously the last question won't be as important if they patch the Sitrep Pro glitch. Dead Silence would be no brainer then since it'd be way easier.

Thanks guys. If you think Sound Whoring is cheap that's fine too but I get lots of kills now just hearing guys running or the sound of a silencer so I'm anxious to see how much easier that is to detect with headset.

1. I'd say it gives a pretty good advantage and you can do a lot of things you wouldn't be able to do without a headset. You can't hear footsteps and stuff as good in MW3 but you still get an advantage here and there.

2. I usually mute everyone and if I don't and they complain I troll them :yuno:

3.See #2, even if they are in my party if their mic is shitty get muted. People with decent mics that don't pick up background noise and aren't talking 24/7 though stay unmuted.

4.Haven't tested sitrep to be honest.

1. It does give you an advantage if your opponent or opponents are not running dead silence. imo the sound in mw2 was a lot clearer then mw3, but u can still soundwhore pretty well.

2. You will get complaints for anything you do in cod tbh, if you outplay someone they'll call u a camper/hacker/n00b ect.

3. I usually mute people unless i'm playing with friends, I don't need to hear there life story or terrible music.

4. I prefer sitrep pro over dead silence for pretty much every mode, but i may switch to dead silence if im playing snd.

1. Not a huge advantage, but if you learn some of the sounds of MW3 it definitely helps. MW2 was the best game for a headset hands down. I could hear people coming from across the map.
2. Yes I get this all the time. The better player is always called a camper by the person that died.
3. Chatting does drown out the sound a lot. I will either turn voice chat low if I'm playing with friends or turn it off if I'm by myself.
4. Your own footsteps shouldn't be a huge concern unless you only play S&Awesome face. They are rather silent already. SitRep Pro works decently. Its super easy to hear people when they jump off things, walk on metal, pull pin on grenade, etc.

Overall the audio in this game completely sucks compared to MW2. I can still say my headset is a huge advantage though. You just have to train yourself to remember certain small sounds. Hope this helped you.

Headset's is over-rated. I have Turtle Beach EarForce DELTA, which costs nearly 500$ in Norway, and I don't play any better with them, but then again, I'm not a camping, soundwhoreing bitch.

But for the sake of sound quality, I totaly recommend headsets.

Headset = Better.

There's a lot of reasons why, but muting the entire team by sliding the switch is very much worth it.

Tbh turtle beach are cheap pieces of crap which give so much static in the ear its hard to hear anything. The difference between asteo a40 and turtle beaches is ridiculous. The astos or even the tritons sound 100 times better than all of the turtle beaches.

If you are paying only 100 for a headset it isn't going to be great the ps3 official stereo headset had virtual surround sound where as the "astro a40s or tritons 720 pro" actually have multiple speakers in each ear cup also the ps3 stereo headset will give static and make things hard to hear. Don't expect a 100 dollar headset to be good because they aren't they are cheaper for a reason I know I had a few before I got my astros

Compared to MW2 it poor :(
Black ops had very low footsteps sounds but you could turn off the bloody music ¬_ ¬

1. It depends not as powerful it once was but still can be helpful.
Helps moving around the map.

2. I don't get any lol

3. Depends you can miss the foosteps if you do. Chatting now and again not so much.

4. Sit rep pro........shame they nerfed it so much / general sound whoring . Only problem you can only hear dead silence users at close range. Often it too late.

I don't think it cheap....i think it fair in a game which so easy to die. Stealth perks not being in the same slot i feel is cheap
