Ok,so I'm going to give myself the official PS3 wireless stereo headset for Christmas and need a little feedback from you guys. I understand Turtle Beaches,Astros, etc have better headsets. I just think the $100 price and being an official product makes this a good buy. I'm not asking for a review on the headset but actual feedback on MW3 soundwhoring :carling: . Here are my questions for owners of ANY Stereo gaming HEADSET Not a bluetooth or the Xbox Live mic lol.
1. Would you say the headset gives you a huge advantage?
2. Do you get more complaints(ie: camper, hacker etc) since if you hear a guy following you in a room you might turn and prone to kil him. I can imagine the 3 secs you waited to kill a guy YOU KNOW was coming turns into "oh you're waiting for people you camping asshole" lol.
3. Does chatting in game afect your ability to hear footstep, gunshot, reload, etc sounds significantly?
4. Would you say Dead Silence's silent footsteps is more useful or Sitrep Pro's 4 times louder footsteps? I'm not concerned with Sitrep's ability to see equipment nor Dead Silence Pro's no fall damage. Strictly your footsteps silent or enemy footsteps 4x louder?
Obviously the last question won't be as important if they patch the Sitrep Pro glitch. Dead Silence would be no brainer then since it'd be way easier.
Thanks guys. If you think Sound Whoring is cheap that's fine too but I get lots of kills now just hearing guys running or the sound of a silencer so I'm anxious to see how much easier that is to detect with headset.
1. Major advantage, you will know when enemies are near you and which places to go to avoid being sandwiched (stuck between two enemies)
2. You always will, especially those that have assassin and blind eye, they believe they're hidden but that's where sound whoring comes in handy. I have host advantage in these games (I am one of the many few that are getting it now in this game, for some reason when I am host), so I hear a lot of "WTF how did he kill me before". People will always complain.
3. With sit rep pro, nope, dead silence then yes, depends if you are good at cancelling out these sort of noises. Dead silence does not work well when your team doesn't use dead silence aswell.
4. I used sit rep in mw2 well before I knew what its pro perk was, even before sit rep pro I would sound whore from my tv, I would notice metal foot steps etc. Dead silence is a good counter to sit rep, the no fall damage is pointless atm because you don't loose health in jumps that you should, there aren't that many high falls in the maps.
I personally use sit rep pro, I do not wish for them to balance out so that you can hear dead silence people, that would make dead silence pointless. If using sit rep you choose to hear louder footsteps, that is a gain in my opinion, having this major advantage must have a catch. I like this catch, otherwise then you will hear everyone and there is no surprise, it is a perfect counter.
If you use a perk, there should be a catch. Use hardline, you can't aim fast. Use quickdraw and SoH you have to be conservative and know when to pick up a new gun. For Assassin there is Recon, it may not be for any perk, but this accidental bug offers more strategy.
