Porter Justice here and this is my brief experimentation of the first Assault Rifle in Modern Warfare 3. After using the Tar 21 I began using M164A in Modern Warfare 2 and it was BEAST. In Black Ops not so much, I just used it for nostalgia and because I like burst weapons a little more.

I decided since I am normally in a party instead of dealing with those scrubby ass Green arrows aka randoms...I could afford to use the M16A4. I consider myself a good player not because of what tactics, guns or perks I use but because of the common sense aspect most players lack. So party + some skill should equal = right? Well I will say this:

The Type 95 is easier to use because it's stronger although I don't think it's the easiest gun to use in the game. M16A4 typically takes 2 bursts to kill and is pretty accurate so as long as you have some type of aim you should be fine. However the biggest downside is at close range. M16A4 has at times taken me TWO BURSTS at close range to kill someone. I've died like this a couple times at close range and thought if I had Type 95, Scar, ACR, AK47 I would've have died. So you don't have to play defensive but don't think you're running in to enemy spawns and tearing shit up with the M164A


Now, MW3 the Type 95(get mad) :carling: is my 2nd most used gun behind the ACR and it reminds me of the MW2 FAMAS WITHOUT Stopping Power, you can get 1 bursts up close and the gun is crazy accurate. I've heard the complaints since people hate "overpowered guns" which is always the dumbest complaint in any COD in my opinion not to mention the biggest scapegoat next to "camping" I mean people hate campers but even IF you rush them, you'll get hell if your gun is "too powerful"...The SAME GUN THEY COULD BE USING IF THEY WANTED TO...The FAMAS of BO and UMP of MW2 were the only two guns that were a little OP but it's not going to make bad players good, but they could make good players way better.

M16A4 is a rewarding gun to use. If you're good with burst weapons and liked the M16 or G11(pre-patch) of Black Ops you have a shot(see what I did there :lol: ) with this weapon. I would advise you to have another class setup in case you face a really good team or are playing on a really small map. I use Assault and Specialist only(Support noobs get mad :carling: ) so I'd say Pred-Attack Heli-Reaper or Pred-Reaper-Pavelow are my streaks of choice with this. Red Dot, Rapid Fire, Shotgun are good attachments. 2 Attachments, Focus or Flinch are good Proficiencies. I'd stay away from Silencer as it will hurt the damage at ranges even more.

I will use this gun for the rest of my current prestige to get it gold however I'm not too sure if I will use it again. My gun K/D is 1.85 with M16A4...My gun K/D with Type 95 is 1.80....Which is a product of me knowing which maps to use burst weapons on, having full 9 man parties and also facing scrubs and splitscreen guys that would let an M16A4 outgun their UMPs, P90s and ACRs. Give it a go.

M16 Red Dot + Desert Eagle, now that's nostalgia.

But I've set nostalgia aside and use the Type 95 Rapid Fire & Red Dot + Five Seven Ext. Mags.

Really wish they put the COD4 Golden Deagle back, with the COD4 iron sights.

I'll probably try out this gun when I'm 10th and going for gold guns. I haven't used this on any of my classes but when I pick it up it really is a let down at close range. I used the m16 on black ops quite a bit and adapted to using that on long range maps and it was decent compared to spraying long range with a famas
