(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Here's my long expansive post where I debate some pros and cons of prestiging from my point of view.

I prestiged once and am level 80. I don't think I'll be doing it again. How are people already 10th? I see people in lobbies that are in the top 100 in the world. I mean I'm in the top 50,000 with 2 days of play time. If I don't play for a week, I drop 20,000 ranks. So how do these people have time to play everyday for hours on end?

I'll say 50% of high prestigers camp so hard in games. I mean, is that the way? That doesn't take skill. So does that mean prestige ≠ skill? If so, what's the point? I am always in the top 3 in the lobby, routinely getting 3,000+ points in Kill Confirmed.

I see both sides of the argument. Here are the points I am debating.

-You get a cool symbol.
I like the symbols, but frankly it doesn't matter to me. The only cool ones are above 5, and to me that's a waste of time. Could be different for you, I have better things to do. I already established that prestige ≠ skill. What you do in a game and your stats = skill. Prestiging gives neither.

-You get exclusive titles and emblems.
I do like the prestige packs, but they're not worth prestiging to get. The spinning skull doesn't even spin. I did buy the first pack which gave me the COD4 10th emblem, my favorite one. If you prestige once, you can get all those gold killstreak titles and emblems. You can get any of the Prestige Challenges completed.

-5 custom classes isn't enough.
I think it's definitely isn't enough. I can't think of any other guns I'd want to use. Currently, I have these classes:

Type 95 Rapid Fire and RDS. I go tryhard with this class.
Striker Extended Mags and Damage proficiency. I'm the person you all hate with this.
ACR Silenced with Impact. It's the perfect all around gun. It gets me high killstreaks.
MP7 Rapid Fire. This is my run-n-gun class. I use it when I rush.
MSR Heartbeat. This is my quickscope and sniping class.

I use all my favorite guns and don't need any others. I have 2 gold and the others are all above level 20. I have a level 10 Five Seven Extended Mags on all my classes. (A dream with my Evil Controller)

-I don't want to have to keep unlocking everything again. I don't want to have to use tokens to use my favorite guns. I don't want to use tokens to get my favorite perks. I don't want to have to keep doing the challenges to make them pro.

-The last point is that "It isn't fun staying the same level."
I think it's fun playing with all my gold guns and pro perks. I like getting high killstreaks, I'm working on my 500 & 1,000 AC130 kills.

Tl;dr I think prestiging is lame. I'll be staying at 1st level 80. What are your thoughts on prestiging?

Quite simply no point
Ok the extra class slots are nice but i doubt people are using more then 2 class per game.

I know what i use on average per game just 2 classes.
Main class i picked for that game and my air support class.

Alot of people say they prestige it increases there skill level. Lolz
Am willing to bet money you keep to the same classes each prestige Smile
So that alot of BS right there.

Alot of people then say they prestige cos it fun. It fun ranking up and stuff. If that the only way you have fun with a game where it rewards you all the time. I worry about you i do....
And if the only reason you play this game is to be rewarded by unlocks why are you still playing ?

With the fact they added even more unlocks into this game no point in prestiging. Black ops i could see the point due to COD points not much was locked off from you apart from pro perks. But this game no point at all.

Imo i think they should rework prestige. Prestige should lock out your most used kits and force you to try something different. Should also look at your overall weapon used during your prestige time. If you used the ACR alot and nothing else each time you prestige. The XP gained should be lowered then something you not used much.

Am more then happy to keep at no prestige for all CODs.
Killing people is more fun then unlocks for me.

I honestly regret going to Tenth cause now I cant even get a lobby going , everybody backs out!
The Veteran Package is really nice if not the best package out of all 3.
I have 10 Custom Classes and use all of them, I like 10 classes as I had in previous COD titles. Once you're 10th you will start ranking up all weapons and 10 classes help.

All in all I bumrushed 10th prestige by Dec 31 lol but next COD I wont prestige , because people keep backing out when I'm in the room and Im suspecting its the 10th emblem =/

I can see both points of view. I remember in MW2 and BO I had the stance of not ever prestiging. But you get bored with the game, feel like you want to start fresh, and try other guns at least til you level up to the ones you like. Black Ops had incentives like the nice looking titles, and Gold Guns at least. I can see why someone wouldn't prestige. However, with Unlock Gear in particular, you get to use the gun and/or perks you want from lvl 4 on which is nice. I seriously doubt many people prestige because they feel it makes them a better player.

This prestige or not prestige debate shouldn't be broken down into "People who don't prestige are no skill scrubs vs People who prestige are camping losers, who think they are good."

I prestige usually closer to Double XP times just to kinda start over fresh. I don't agree with forcing people to use different guns because for one, you shouldn't have to use multiple guns just because some other guy wants to follow some imaginary rule of thinking using different or weaker guns makes you manlier or cooler. Besides, that would be ANOTHER excuse added to the COD community, "If I had my gun/perk, I would have owned you" sort of comments.

There are good cases for both. Bottomline is, Prestige is nothing more than a different emblem. It has no indication of skill level, tactics, financial standing, etc lol. I do agree with you on the Custom Class. Unless you have extra tokens going to waste, why would you honestly need more than 6 or 7 classes. There is no situation in game that you'll need more than 3 classes at once. If you wanted to try a different gun, then you can edit that in the pregame lobby. 6-7 classes are enough really. Once you have 10 you just make classes just for filler.

I prestige because I dislike staying at a certain prestige and know that I could rank up more. Plus being at a higher prestige then other people also gives me another thing to use against others when playing S&Awesome face for when I troll :carling:. As for the resetting of the perks and what not I like that because it brings the fun of having to rank your gun back up or obtain the pro version of a perk, to me it keeps the game fresh since I always have something to do as I level up.

It really is personal preference however, as you pointed out I think it gets boring staying the same level after a while and I miss seeing how much XP till the next level. So I prestige until I get to an emblem that I really like :fa:
