Post: I don't see a point to prestiging more than once. Do you?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Here's my long expansive post where I debate some pros and cons of prestiging from my point of view.

I prestiged once and am level 80. I don't think I'll be doing it again. How are people already 10th? I see people in lobbies that are in the top 100 in the world. I mean I'm in the top 50,000 with 2 days of play time. If I don't play for a week, I drop 20,000 ranks. So how do these people have time to play everyday for hours on end?

I'll say 50% of high prestigers camp so hard in games. I mean, is that the way? That doesn't take skill. So does that mean prestige ≠ skill? If so, what's the point? I am always in the top 3 in the lobby, routinely getting 3,000+ points in Kill Confirmed.

I see both sides of the argument. Here are the points I am debating.

-You get a cool symbol.
I like the symbols, but frankly it doesn't matter to me. The only cool ones are above 5, and to me that's a waste of time. Could be different for you, I have better things to do. I already established that prestige ≠ skill. What you do in a game and your stats = skill. Prestiging gives neither.

-You get exclusive titles and emblems.
I do like the prestige packs, but they're not worth prestiging to get. The spinning skull doesn't even spin. I did buy the first pack which gave me the COD4 10th emblem, my favorite one. If you prestige once, you can get all those gold killstreak titles and emblems. You can get any of the Prestige Challenges completed.

-5 custom classes isn't enough.
I think it's definitely isn't enough. I can't think of any other guns I'd want to use. Currently, I have these classes:

Type 95 Rapid Fire and RDS. I go tryhard with this class.
Striker Extended Mags and Damage proficiency. I'm the person you all hate with this.
ACR Silenced with Impact. It's the perfect all around gun. It gets me high killstreaks.
MP7 Rapid Fire. This is my run-n-gun class. I use it when I rush.
MSR Heartbeat. This is my quickscope and sniping class.

I use all my favorite guns and don't need any others. I have 2 gold and the others are all above level 20. I have a level 10 Five Seven Extended Mags on all my classes. (A dream with my Evil Controller)

-I don't want to have to keep unlocking everything again. I don't want to have to use tokens to use my favorite guns. I don't want to use tokens to get my favorite perks. I don't want to have to keep doing the challenges to make them pro.

-The last point is that "It isn't fun staying the same level."
I think it's fun playing with all my gold guns and pro perks. I like getting high killstreaks, I'm working on my 500 & 1,000 AC130 kills.

Tl;dr I think prestiging is lame. I'll be staying at 1st level 80. What are your thoughts on prestiging?

i did that for jokes. not prestiging makes the game really boring. and yes those people with high rankings have no life, or they are like my wife and get to play most of the day because she doesn't have a job and gets to play 2-5 hours a day when the kids aren't bothering her. i've played for 4 days and i'm prestige 5, i don't look at it as skill never have, if it was skill then the people i get paired up against would be just as good as me or better. it is worthless to prestige but at the same time you'll unlock everything all over again. prestiging is there to challenege yourself. its so you get as much as you can out of the game. or it'll just get really really boring instead of just boring.

If you play for the joy of unlocking things (which I do), then yes. Happy

I prestige to the majority of reputation and looks. If you're tenth you look like you're the boss or a booster of course. So I'll stick with 7th :p half boss

I completely agree that rank does not reflect skill in any way whatsoever.
And Yes Point taken that you do not need to Prestige if have no desire to or you just simply do not want any of the title/emblems for each prestige; However I do recommend at least getting all 10 classes for those who cannot fit with just 5.

But Personally, for over achievers like myself who like to go for the top par in every game they play, I found it enjoyable to prestige, I don't like to be like other people and use the same weapons over and over for a long time, I like to use other weapons, weapons that are least used in fact and see how well I fare going up against things like the FMG9 or Striker, I pursue the challenge. I like to play at the disadvantage because it's what makes a player better, every time you prestige you start from scratch and have to work your way up the ladder again, you have the experience, now is where you can see how you've improved since your last progression by trying again.

The reason I play CoD isn't because its my favorite game, its merely because all my friends play it, and I try to overcome them at what they do, but at the same time I treat it like a trophy list. Since i've already put so much time into this game and its becoming one of those "Go for it" games for me, My goal is to achieve as much as I can in this game.

Currently:
I've gotten the Platinum (all trophies for core game if there are any via DLC)
%100.3 Single Player (Iunno what .3% is about)
%100 Spec Ops
%1100 Multiplayer
Online I'm 10th Prestige Lv80 Legit
I have a lot of titles/emblems including many difficult ones legit
All Assault Rifle Attachments
All SMG Attachments
All LMG Attachments
All Shotgun Attachments
All Secondary Attachments
Most Sniper Rifle Attachments (everything for Barrett 50 Cal., L118, and Dragonuv; just started AS50 effective today)
I have Autumn/Red Tiger on every weapon excluding sniper rifles
I have Gold on the MP7, USAS-12, and KSG-12
I will have Gold soon for the M4A1, P90, PKP Pecheneg, SPAS-12, and ACR
(Next Gold Goals are SCAR-L, PM-9, M60E4, and AA-12)
I recently bought CoD Elite Premium, and acquired Founder Status within the past two days not only for the title/emblems but for the DLC.
I'm currently in the top 1000 on the Score Board (PS3), I've become 9000 ranks ahead of the guy that hit 10th Prestige when I was merely 6th Prestige.

This is just me, and how I am, the games that I find my friends play most I take up the challenge, previous example where i've done this before was Warhawk, a game I've spent over 1000Hrs in to get the Platinum and win the GGL Championship Blade

Well people have the hours to play because they dont have jobs or they work only a couple times a week. but prestiging in mw3 is easy because you can unlock any gun you want after you presige
