Post: The Logic Behind Liking Older Cods

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey, I know this might now be entirely true, but this is what I think probably goes on in your head.

Ok so let's address topic #1

"I miss the Good Ole Cod4 Days"

- Ok so basically the reason why people like call of duty 4 so much, is that it reminds them of all the memories and joy they had playing their first cod. It reminds you of meeting new friends, and just having fun constantly.

For example, some people who just started playing mw3, could start cod 4, and simply not like it. The reason being, is your brain is hardwired to recognize that you really enjoyed your first game, and have lots of memories on it. Mine personally is Unreal Tournament 3.

Topic #2 (Each New Cod is Worse Than The Other)

This also, but not entirely has to do with your brain also. The reason behind this, is that you set you expectations so high, that when they are not reached, you are compulsed to feel dislike towards the game. Sure, the game may have faults, but because you expected what you invisioned as your perfect cod, each new game you feel isn't that amazing.

The fun behind cod in my opinion isn't gameplay. Its the time you spend having fun with friends, playing private match, or w/e your favorite memories may be. Without having friends, or at least playing around, I don't see how a repetetive game like Call of Duty could be entertaining.

I know many of you disagree, I just wanted to post this out here, and see who agrees. Feel free to quote me and disagree.

Everyone had the same killstreaks and there was no real overused gun (except maybe the mp5)
There was a lot less hate messages and mic abuse then there is now.
It never really got boring that quickly are there were very little issues with the game.
No one really cared about their stats as only you and your friends could view them therefore It was a lot more chilled and laidback when it came to competitiveness.
I played sniper matches with 2 of my friends and we lived it, it was always a lot of fun.

Now I'm not saying the newer cods are bad, they are still good games but they will never beat COD4.

However a reason for the changes in the newer games comes down to "needing" to add more new features to the game in order to attract more customers. If they kept it 100% like cod4 I.e only 3 killstreaks the series would not be as big as it is today.

Another reason is the amount of Criticism players now get for not having a high K/D. Since all are stats are visible its easy to see those who are not as good as you and now it has become a real competition of stat whoring. I know I never use to care but since black ops I really do care as so many people give abuse to those who are not as good as them. Or it's the opposite, you get called a try hard because your not sniping and you have a high K/D.

The game has become a lot more than what it originally started out as, is this for better or for worse?
I have my opinion. Please quote me if you share or have a different view on what I just said Awesome face

Completely agree! I'm in the mood forsome Cod4 today..

Totally disagree, played every Call of Duty, first COD game made, I played on PC, then COD2 Big Red One on xbox, COD3 on xbox and PS3, then COD4 on PS3 and so on, but I still believe COD4 is the BEST Call of Duty created.

COD4 wasn't my first COD game played, the first Call of Duty was, and I still believe COD4 is the best
