As of February 3rd, 2012 a patch was released for the PS3. More info here You must login or register to view this content.

I will be talking about shotguns however. The extended mags glitch has been patched. This really isn't a "nerf", it's a patch for removing the glitch. The Striker retained its 6 pellets, the Spas has retained its 8 pellets, the AA12 has retained its 8 pellets, and the Models still have 8 pellets. However, the KSG 12 and the USAS 12 did get buffed to 9 pellets like the earlier hotfix but removed because the extended mags was still present, making these unbelievably overpowered. It's back now, but now with the extended mags glitch patched. Those aren't the only buffs though. The Models and the Spas have received a damage buff. The Spas does 35 damage and the Models, 40 damage and yes, those are without proficiencies. With the damage proficiency, the Spas still kills in 3 pellets with 49 damage each pellet (Why not 50? FFFF), and the Models kill in 2 pellets with 56 damage each pellet (Up to a range of 386 units). Striker users will still be out there and this patch won't remove them. The Striker is still powerful.

For those that don't like to read..

Red = With damage proficiency on.
Regular health is 100. 30 for hardcore. You do the math.

Discussion about the Spas 12 and why Range is better than Damage.
I looked into the ranges. With range, the Spas will 1HK at a range of 521 units, with damage, 512 units. Barely a difference. But, look at this chart.

One shot kills, by # of pellets, starting at 3 to 8 (Top to bottom).

Based on those stats it takes the Spas 3 bullets to kill whether your using damage or not. Is there any point ot use that over Range now for the Spas ? Im also curious on the rapid fire glitch for the KSG.

Range is clearly better. You'll get 1HKs up to that range depending on how many pellets hit (For example, 8 pellets to kill at a range of 781 with range proficiency). Damage... Sorry to say but doesn't even do jack-shit.

1) Shoot
2) Reload
3) Sprint

Well, this suggests that the Model is the best, because its pellets have the highest max damage and highest min damage, and, if I'm being honest, it's actually pretty good.

KSG 12 > Models.
KSG can rapid fire a lot faster than the models, and can do it without SoH. Of course, depends on the user.
