(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Is it just me, or is it that gameplay with HDMI cables tend to have more input lag than one of those old tvs with just the red-yellow-white cable outlets?

I just switched from my HDMI tv to a standard tv because I went over to a buddy's house and that was the tv he had. Apparently, I did far better than I do with HDMI, and I think (atleast its what I noticed) it's because when you push a button on HD, it lags just a tiny bit. It may not seem noticable at first, but I always found it noticable. With an HD TV, I always do like ~ 30-13 ish or something along those lines but without HD, I do like 45-5 a game. (Rough estimates, I'm not THAT good :dumbSmile

I'm not sure if it's my controller, my HDMI cable, or my HD TV, but I noticed it even on other people's tvs and I was wondering if it actually made some sort of difference. If it did, I'd probably always play with a standard tv, but I'm a bit curious with this stuff.

Anyways, just let me know if you guys experience this or not. It could just be me, I don't know.

Never noticed it, but once I started playing on HD, I can't even look @ the other red-white-yellow wire screen. It seems disgusting and unworthy of being called a game.

I don't think I am lagging? I use HD Component / Composite cables for the HD PVR. I seem to do better when I am away of the TV , and when I am upclose, I can't focus on anything.

There is actually a slight deficiency with HD Tv's and it is that some of them have input lag. Not even
just on Modern Warfare 3. I've noticed it on TV's I own and yes, it sucks. If you want minimal to no input lag
however, I STRONGLY recommend buying a PC monitor to play through. They have great visuals and have no input lag.
If you decide to buy one, it is well worth the buy.

It's been awhile.
My TV does have lag, whatever you press on the controller, it's a second later on the screen.. But my aunt's TV is also HD and doesn't have any lag.

It depends on the TV.

If you are super concerned with the micro seconds you are losing buy a gaming tv. Although I wouldn't blame your tv too much when IW has bullshit like lag compensation in the game.

You are right, this does happen and it is a problem, it's really annoying too.

If this HDMI input lag is true, I would consider a standard def TV if the quality was so bad after using HDMI. It may be just me but I can't stand playing without HDMI for gaming.
