(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ive recently been taking a brake from COD to carm down and chill.

I have noticed on my current game (Max payne 3) which came out only a few weeks ago and got great reviews, that no one really actualy plays it?

Go on COD on any platform and will always be atleast 500,000+ players always on.

While on a generally brand new game that every review gives great scores to only has about 5,000 - 10,000 players max (taken from PS3 at UK time).

So im wondering does COD kill off other games (multiplayer wise) before people even really play it?

Try to think of many games that have 100,000+ players on them almost constantly (not halo or BF3), is COD with it 1,000,000 peopke online (most of the time) killing other multiplayer games?

Do you think COD has just doomed 90% of games before people have even tried there multiplayer to see what its like, because everyone is to busy playing COD?

No because many people dont buy Call of Duty for the single player. Not everyone plays online. Many games for example Grand Theft Auto have a very big fan base but many people dont play online because they are playing the long in depth story mode.

Yeah but GTA has a multiplayer and its alot more fun to mess around with friend on free roam than by your self in story.

Plus the story only lasts so long, skyrim lasted me just over a week and thats single player only, but it seems not mamy people stay past the "single player" before going back to COD or moving onto the next "single player"

Are you high?
Cod is more of a casual game.
Anyway Cod will die when GTA V comes out (Sales, graphics, MP etc..)

Sorry but you can't compare COD to GTA... COD players who bought all of them each year won't be switching to any other game by one day... Question is when are people going to be pissed about the same thing over & over ( COD ) I myself play COD as of now and don't really understand " why " because when I play the game most of the time I rage because of LAG ect... but still when I'm bored I'm like lets play some MW3...

Well COD is Without a doubt the biggest and most successful gaming series of all time.
In my opinion it will only continue to grow.
Even with a lot of people on here who say they won't buy COD and that COD sucks, it will still be huge year after year.

I remember trying to play Kane & Lynch 2 online and I couldn't even find a game, I think I found 1 player after waiting 5 mins.

COD has the biggest fan base and like you said it is giving no new games a chance multiplayer wise.

The number of games I have bought and barely played is rediculous and it all comes down to COD.

In Flames Much?
COD is a game designed to smash skill ceilings
What more worrying is the trend that devs follow what COD has done and dumb down games.
BF3 to a point has done alot to limit what skilled players can do

Are other examples.....devs need to learn that following the COD formula may get you high sales short term but longer term kills the brand and game.

More than enough room for easy games and hard ones. COD is a game i no longer take serious at all. Other games i do Smile

Saying that games cost alot too and people can't keep buying loads of games each year. So prices need to come down along with people being more willing to try new things.

Lithium.
COD will keep growing and growing and unless gaming companies step up their game they won't be COD.
On the first week of Skyrim being released it was getting more players on it but then after one week MW3 was at the top again.
I don't understand why.
But yes, new games out don't stand a chance against COD franchise because of it's highly addicting multiplayer.
