My best strategy is going to the power handle, open the door behind it and then go and camp up the stairs (with multiple people). You can go get the perks and go to the Pack-A-Punch machine (with the teleport nearby).

i made it to 34 solo... just camp in the teleporter and leave whenever you get swarmed
i died because i ran out of points and ammo-was running around knifing the last zombie for points and it caught me in a corner.
