Haxor!
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Which one is good for me? Im gonna use it for moderate gaming like starcraft 2 (high settings) and video editing.

Laptop 1:

i7-2630qm (Quad Core)
4 Gb RAM
1 Gb nvidia gt525m

Laptop 2:

i5-2410m (Dual Core)
4 Gb RAM
1 Gb nvidia gt540m

Their prices are similar. Also if i may ask, the seller told me you need at least 6 gb ram to fully utilize the i7-quad cores, he said with 4 gb ram, it is similar speed to the i5-2410. Is that true?

Thanks!

Huge difference in amount of cores. Obviously, more is better. DON'T get a laptop for video editing. NEVER. They overheat often while you will be rendering videos or something. Low air flow. Plus, you can never upgrade them.

Yeah I understand. But, laptop 1 is $200 bucks more! You think its worth it? The reason why im SOOO TORN between the two is that i really like laptop 1's i7 processor! And its color..its blue, looks like subzero, so awesome! lol. Ok I will now reveal its brand. its a dell inspiron n5110.

Laptop 2 however is a Toshiba satellite. And the one i like about it is its illuminated keyboard and its slighty powerful video card nvidia gt 540m. (The dell has a slightly lower card, gt 525m, but still good)

Choice 1: Dell Choice 2: Toshiba
-Good Color -Light up keys
-Better Processor -Slightly better brand/name
-Ok Graphics Card -Better Graphics card
-$200 more

gt 525m- You must login or register to view this content.
gt 540m- You must login or register to view this content.

Lol. the reason why i held back the brand names is that the choice/advice would be fair and unbiased. Coz i know there are quite a lot of those dell haters out there haha, but i personally find the company ok.

But you are right i think, the i7 is a bit more future worthy.
Thanks! Happy

Yeah Buddy!
Weather you agree or not, if you are rendering a video, you will be in one place, not moving, id suggest that you try a LAN case with an ATX micro mobo, it will be lightweight and portable enough that if you are moving around maybe going away for a weekend or whatever, you could move it around with you check my thread for example im packing a powerhouse into a small case, a great high spec machine for a pretty low price!
