Post: Need help on choosing a High Performance/Gaming Laptop :)

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I'm looking to get a laptop for Christmas for High performance like HD video editing and gaming. I want one that will be able to run games like BFBC2 and Crysis 2 on Max Settings (1920 x 1080 res) and possibly BF3 also. (Prefferebly not alienware)
Any advice?

I had one laptop in mind, the Dell XPS 17
Processor: i7-2720QM processor 2.20 GHz with Turbo Boost 2.0 up to 3.30 GHz
Graphics card: 3GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 555M
RAM: 6144MB (1x2GB, 1x4GB) 1333MHz DDR3 Dual Channel SDRAM

Is this good enough for high performance gaming?

U can run Crysis in max on a laptop with a 5850, thats bullshit unless u count 10fps running it

Don't ever buy a gaming laptop. They're a rip. The processors wont last long because they run hot as hell. And you don't have a full size keyboard either. It's really not worth it. If you need gaming on the go get a PSP or something. But if you're gaming at home, build a PC.

Insufficient cooling, confined spaces, lack of any truly powerful hardware, higher than necessary prices... yeah, I wouldn't go with a gaming laptop, man. It's just not worth the mediocre power and short life.

hey I currently got an ASUS g53sw-a1 gaming laptop and it's been amazing thus far. I play every game without any troubles and usually maxed out- black ops, dirt 3, grand theft auto , mw2. I love this laptop.

The guy builds it from scratch for you then sends it out when he's done. Only problem is it does not come with an operating system. It's not a laptop though

Yeah, that computer might "run anything" and it might run Crysis 2 on max settings, but the 5450 will only run those types of game at really low FPSs. You're hardly gonna get 15 FPS on Crysis 2 maxed with that card...
