Post: Need a Good PC For Gaming
08-16-2011, 08:10 PM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I'm new to gaming on PC, have always used a console (Playstation). I'm not too sure what specs are needed to run current games but I'm sure I need at least 3GB of Ram, and my current PC only has 1.5GB.

I'm doing my research but I'm sure most of you can answer my questions.

I looking for a Desktop PC. Please tell me what good specs are, and what a good video card is because the one I have now is sh*t.

OR, post a link to a good one to buy. Looking for something around $400 if possible.

Thanks!

David.
Do a barrel roll!
It would be almost impossible to get a gaming rig for that money.

I'm not neccesarily looking for a new one, but to upgrade the one I have. That's why I asked for some good specs :p
BUT, if you can find a good one for around that price I may just buy it.

You can't upgrade your current computer. Most likely It's a gateway or some shit, has one stick of RAM, not to mention only one RAM slot. Probably has a socket 775 dual core or something. No video card due to lack of PCI slot. If you want a good gaming PC but you don't want to spend alot of money; Build one. You could build a good enough one for $500.

Either way, you have an old motherboard. You need a whole new computer. Upgrading it will get you nowhere.

How is my motherboard old? The PC was purchased in late '06 and can run morrowind and maybe Oblivion pretty good. Just looking to upgrade video to play newer releases like Black Ops and MW2.

Then your gonna need a graphics card that can run it. And then a processor that can..
