(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey NGU, I don't understand why my computer can't handle the simplest to hardcore games as it should. I have an alienware m15x with intel core i7 cpu Q720 @ 1.60GHz, 4Core(s) 8 logical processors, 4gigs of RAM, a 500gb harddrive with a GeForce GTX 260M video card. I feel games such as trine, minecraft, portal, tf2, crysis, magicka, metro 2033, and many more should run smooth atleast on medium settings. I updated my drivers, cleaned out my system and still nothing :(. The games I have must be played on low settings and it still doesn't run smooth. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this?? Please help!!!!!! :(

Pretty sure you have to run it as an administrator if I remember correctly, so try that out if you haven't already.

Yeah I tried that already....going to keep searching for a solution thoe...also I'm messaging steam telling them my issue so maybe they can help me out. It was weird I had this problem before and they told me to change something in the registry and it worked, but it was temporary from what i noticed. I tried changing it back and I'm still having this problem =/

it looks like Graphics: Desktop performance for Windows Aero is really low at 5.5 and Primary hard disk: Disk data transfer rate is at 5.9

The maximum score for all of those is 7.9, you're scores aren't low at all. It's typical for a mid-range laptop.

Your computer might just have hardware and heating problems, as most Alienwares do.

Also, do you have your laptop plugged in when you try to play the games? And does your laptop have integrated Intel graphics or anything like that?

Yes I usually have my laptop plugged in and I'm not 100% sure about my laptop having integrated Intel graphics =/

where you able to play such games before? it might just be an overload of processes in the background lowering the performances.
