AM I MISSING ANYTHING? WHICH GRAPHICS CARD, Motherboard AND CASE DO YOU RECOMMEND?

Thank you for the help.

But most importantly, is the build compatible? Will it work or not? Will I have trouble with the parts I am buying? I tried to pick the best parts, and was surprised at how the total was around $400 less than what I expected to spend.

Smoke weed.
If you have the money, go ahead and blow it on intel.
The only thing i can suggest is dropping the expensive mobo and cpu for a high end amd cpu and a high end am3+ mobo, then spending the extra money on either dual gtx570's, or a gtx580

Also, you don't need such an expensive case.

No more that $2000. I'm pitching in $1000 at least, my father said he would like to pay me back for a few things so, yeah.

Haha, thanks. I've been using this shitty Vista laptop for such a long time now, i'll be happy to have a change, and not get 15 FPS on Cod 4 with lowest settings. < True story) Can't wait to use this as my powerhouse media desktop.

Naw, I added the new case in there. It's only like 80 bucks. I'm not too fond of AMD for processors and Nvidea for GPU's. I like AMD for GPU's and Intel for CPU's. But I saw the GTX 570, and decided to throw it in there and see if anyone has other recommendations. What about the overall build? Does it seem okay? Or the CD drive?

Am I missing anything?

Thanks.

Thanks.

I recommend swapping out that i7 2600k for an i5 2500k.

The i7 2600k gets lower FPS on a lot of games compared to the i5 2500k, even though the i7 2600k is more expensive by $100 or so

You can have a look at the benchmarks here You must login or register to view this content.

personally, i would get this (your build edited)

HDSad Awesome You must login or register to view this content.

Cooling: You must login or register to view this content.

GPU: You must login or register to view this content. x2 for sli

Case: You must login or register to view this content.

RAM: You must login or register to view this content.

PSU: You must login or register to view this content.

MoBo: You must login or register to view this content.

total: $1,974.75

that build will run any game on max settings Smile

hope this helps Smile

as for i5 vs i7, the i7 is far better if you intend to do heavy multitaking, ie game recording software and music.

however if you dont want to shell out the extra money for better mukltitaking, then by all means save some money and buy the i5 Smile
