Don't cheap it out, you want something durable, reliable, and efficient. You get what you pay for. I recommend save a little more, gut the 1 TB hard drive, and get a new MacBook Pro. They just came out with their models too, I think.

Macbooks are amazing. However I can understand not wanting to dish out more money for something you can get for less. I was going to buy an iMac, but then I realized I would need something for school. I am now going to buy a Macbook for school, as I really want a nice reliable laptop.

If you want to go with PC, buy things from Tigerdirect. They have amazing prices and great deals on laptops :y:

Don't buy HP, or Sony. HP is just plain bad. And Sony's laptops are overpriced. (Mac's are less when you incorporate the needed software, reliability, and build quality.

Also if i did get a mac is it hard to download and run that program that allows you to run windows programs
If i got a mac, is it hard downloading that program that allows you to run windows programs?

vmware is your man for running windows in a mac!
buts whats the point in getting a mac when all the programs you want are for windows?
I have a macbook and if it wasnt for the ease of coding for my apps and my team then i wouldnt have one.
they are terribly over priced! for £1000 you will be lacking in power, memory, ram and pretty much everything. by getting a mac you are 1. paying £500 for a gay little apple on the lid of your laptop and 2. limiting yourself.
if you do not vitally need something that runs on the mac then you dont need it!
dont become one of these faggy little kids who only buy macs so that they appear rich and cool!
Alienwares are the way to go but are overpriced.
if i was you i would either go for a sony vaio (cheap one but with a good screen and processor but shit memory and ram) and upgrade it yourself with all the specs (works out cheaper and you can sell the parts you took out) or get a dell with all the kit included. or a acer?
People here say that hp's are shit. i've used mine for hacking for over 5 years and has never died on me and the battery still works!
so to colclude if you need to use mac stuff like xcode and final cut then go for a mac
if you dont need any mac programs then get a windows!
