I used to be in the same position you were in...Asking questions....posting threads on shit and would always hate to see replies like the one I am leaving you with. Later on, I appreciated these types of replies.
No matter how bad you want to bring down a site, it is not worth it. Sure, the first one you take down gives you a fuking adrenaline rush, and you want to keep taking every single site down one by one, but trust me.... You will receive everything from a DoS attack to death threats from a "casino owner."

Just drop it while you can, because you will waste months on this shit and receive nothing but having your reputation bashed in.

You say you were in the same spot he was in and you say he'll have his reputation bashed, yet yours looks pretty good to me... I say do what you want. I spent months on cod4, and I gained from it. You gain from hacking even the simplest of things. You need to learn the basics, then start getting more advanced. It's just like learning a language. After a few months, you'll be pretty good, but horrible compared to the naturals. This shit takes time, and you'll do good eventually.

Okay, I know with the new rep system coming back into play, you may take "reputation" as in a number on a forum.

What I am talking about is the invisible reputation... The reputation that everyone perceives you by. It's the abstract form. Certain users perceive me by this "bad" reputation for what has taken place in the past.

I find people that ask questions the ones that I can respect the most. They show the willing to learn. I hate people that just take. I hate leechers. If you're going to ask how to learn to do something, I'll respect you.

Not sure what you mean by this post, but I am not the one who needs to learn. I was giving friendly advice to this guy about how he should back out of the hacking business. And I 100% agree with you on the learning part. Smile

You said he should back out of the hacking business because he will just lose respect. But any hacker gains my respect. People that don't try are the ones that lose respect.

Yes, on an internet forum, you gain respect, but everywhere else, they hate you. Hackers are hated everywhere.

Really? Google loves hackers. Facebook loves hackers. They help improve security of sites. Hacking isn't all evil. Hacking also teaches you a lot about programming. If you know a way to hack into something, you know a way to prevent a hack.

Yea, they expose the vulns in sites, but people don't like hackers.. That is the bottom line bud. Go up to the average person who had their identity stolen and ask him if he likes hackers.

And yes, at times hacking is indeed evil.

That's like saying milk is bad. Just go up to anyone that's lactose intolerant and ask them if they think milk is good. You're asking all the people you know already think it's bad. It can be bad and it can be good. I am a hacker, yet I've had my email, facebook, psn and twitter account all stolen. I still think hacking can be good.
