(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Well, i got autocad from my uncle and im going to be using it at school soon and i want to install it on my HP Pavilion dv7 with Windows 7 on it.

When i try to install it i get an error message. "You cannot install Autocad on this OS"

I looked up some videos and found that you can install it on windows 7 because in the video they installed it on windows 7. But why does it not work for me? I also looked on google and found something on Autodesk.com saying that you CAN INSTALL IT ON WINDOWS 7. but why cant i?
Anyone have any ideas?

Maybe you need a x32, x64 or x86 version? You should post some pics of the installation process and any pop-up messages.

Yeah I'm almost positive you need a different bit version. Which is surprising because that program is very expensive, you would of thought they would have more compatibility...

i tryed running as admin, disable visual themes, and try it in compatibilly mode for windows xp (service pack 2), windows xp (service pack 3), windows server 2008, windows vista, windows vista (service pack 1), and windows vista (service pack 2)...still nothing

BUT I Have seen something called WINDOWS XP MODE so i went on microsoft.com and went to download it but it said i cant download it for HOME PREMIUM....can i download it for one of the higher versons and 7 and still get it to work? dont really see why not. i think that they have it say that just so you would buy the upgrade or does it really matter?

Dude, if you got it, and it won't work, then you, the program, or the computer, is messing up.. or you can't meet the minimum requirements for AutoCAD to run. It is a professional design engine.
1.Check your computer stats make sure it can handle the program.
2.Erase previous saves.
3.then re-download, reinstall, or get another copy of AutoCAD.
4..Retry

PM me if you need:
Auto CAD 2010
3D StudioMax
