Did you boot from the disk or just boot normally?

Also if you do not want to keep any of the data on the computer press alt+F10 on startup

It wont read the 64 bit on start up, it doesnt say press any button to start up from boot disk. I tried using the 32 bit CD but it stays loading after i press install ( in order to format i have to do that ).

What comes up after i press F10 and Alt ?

Pressing Alt+F10 should bring up a screen which will allow you restore to factory settings.

To boot by disk press F2 (I think) to startup the bios menu. Within the bios you should see a boot/startup section. It should have a priority list of ways to boot, put your cd drive at the top priority and exit and save changes. Re-boot and it should run the cd from startup

did you change the boot sequence so it launches from cd first instead of the HDD?

Well did you make sure that laptop is 64-bit compatible? Some hardware may not be. Also, have you used to laptop before . If Windows, or any other OS, is already installed, try running without a disc in? If it can start up, change boot settings to boot from disc first, hard drive second [temporarily, of course] so it will boot strictly from the disc. Hope you solve your problem!

We'll, when the laptop worked i tried downloading programs it said DL the 64-bit version. So im guessing it is a 64-bit. Also when i used the 32 bit ( when it was working ) firefox and all other programs crashed, which i found unusual. DO i try the alt+f10 trick with the disk inside or no ?

you're welcome. Also, if it doesn't say "press any button to boot from cd" then it could mean a bad cd because my friend had the same problem two weeks ago when he tried reinstalling windows xp.
