Macs amazing I have a macbook from 08, a macbook pro from late 09 and an iMac 2011. There's really no need for an antivirus and there some really cool apps in the mac appstore and if you don't really feel like paying for them (which you should) you can download some of them from torrent sites. I recommend you download some of the adobe apps which are pretty useful and I'm sure there's one that you need or use. There are lots of threads in the premium section that give you links to download these apps for free.

I personally use google chrome which is my favorite browser.

Caffeine is a good app for macbooks since it doesn't let your computer go to sleep mode ( you can also go to settings to not let your mac go to sleep mode)

Camouflage is another great app if you have files all over your desktop, camouflage lets you hide all those files to have a clean desktop.

I'm sure you have heard of screen snapr, since a lot of people use it here. Droplr is similar to screen snapr.

Screenflow is amazing app for recording stuff in your computer.

Skedaddle is an app which hides some of the files you don't want other people to see Winky Winky

Steam is awesome for games :y:

I have had my mac for about 5 months now and I do all kinds of things on my Mac.. I have created a list of Apps that people haven't mentioned yet which I use on my mac.

Cyberduck - For all your FTP needs Smile
IBackup - backing up and restoring system and application preferences alongside the standard support for securing files and folders.
VLC - Plays media on the MAC
Disk Inventory X - A simple program that scans your disk and visually shows what files takes up how much space
Transmission - Bittorrent program.
Joost - Lets you watch TV for Free on your Mac

thanks
