Preferred specs;

i5 or i7
8GB RAM
Windows 7

^ These are the limitations, feel free to mix it up, I would prefer it to be below £700 and please don't use NewEgg because I'm not from USA or Canada

8GB is too much you don't need that much 6GB will be fine and so will a i5..along with a decent graphics card

6Gb will only really work to the best with a LGA 1366 motherboard I believe, but It needs to support triple channel memory and Sandy Bridge motherboards don't support it, so you'll need to use an older architecture, which I wouldn't really suggest at this point.Just get 8GB, trust me it's worth it. I am usually using 20% out of 16GB just doing regular things so I don't see the point of getting less than 8GB now.Get an i5 2500k, 8GB of 1600Mhz memory, and a motherboard of your choice, but you must make sure it supports socket type LGA 1155.Here let me make you a build:

If you pirate windows you'll be under 700, but it's the best I could do.

RAM is so cheap these days it would be a sin to not get 8GB of RAM.

Probably look at something like
i5 2500k
P67 or Z68 MoBo, I like ASRock best but some people have different opinions.
8GB of RAM
64GB SSD
1TB HDD
AMD 7850 GPU.
550W PSU would be enough, but if you plan on upgrading in the future it might be worth getting a 750W PSU.

I can't spec up a full build now as I am too busy, but try Hardwareversand.
They're a German site with very very good prices, I've bought my PC of them and one or two other people from this site bought from them too.

@ZoneHD, why on earth would you get 3 small HDDs rather than one big one that would work out cheaper. And not get an SSD?!

560Ti is a decent card, but he should be able to fit a 7850 into his budget and that is much much better.

3. For all your games.

Total: 606euro; converts to 507£. That leaves 274£ for a GPU (7850 is expected to be around the same price as the 6950 that leaves 70£ left for Windows)

But @OP, you should pirate Windows. Its not worth paying for.

@ZoneHD, Why would you get a small HDD instead of an SSD for the OS drive?

edit: forgot to add that the 7850 is coming out this month (I think, pretty sure about that) but if the OP added roughly 50£ onto his budget he could get a 7950.

Micro ATX motherboard = stupidest idea ever low on features, hardly any OC support. Might as well get a 2500.

You will need a higher PSU unless you wan't to have a bad life of the entire system.

And that RAM looks like it's from 1992. I wouldn't recommend that at all. Sure it works but the lifespan of RAM sticks like that without a proper heat spreader isn't the best.

The 2500k comes with a fan, it can support an OC to 4Ghz no problem, there is no need for an aftermarket AIR cooler, if you want higher, go liquid.

And not to hate but in general the parts listed here aren't the best of quality, it's maybe just me but I can't stand low quality.

That PSU is fine, nothing wrong with it. I myself have it and know lots of people on a PC Building forum I am on that uses it.

Who cares what the RAM looks like, that RAM is the same as the "cool" looking RAM except it doesn't have those massive heatsinks that isn't needed and often gets in the way. The heatsinks do very little. If you really care so much for the heatsinks, spend an extra 5£ and get them.

The stock fan is quite loud, and that one is very quiet and can support overclocking to 4.5+ easily.


My main point was that he could easily get all the stuff I said he could on that budget, I spent 10mins max listing that up and didn't spend much time sifting through each search result to fine the exact one I was looking for.

The parts aren't of low quality. The case is the only thing that isn't the best of quality, but the components are far more important. That case is a brilliant budget case, I know people with it and they love it, read reviews on it, reviewers love it too Your probably thinking the RAM is of low quality because it doesn't have those "cool" heatsinks. Nothing in the build is of "low quality" they're just less known brands.
