(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); This is the thread where you can boast about your overclocks, and post some benchmarks as well. Essentially I am trying to keep this place alive and ticking since not too many people visit these parts of the forums.

Edit: Thread is back up and still being updated! Post away! Everything has been cleaned up a little and I placed the charts on separate pages.

What's the Purpose?

As I mentioned before, you can post some form of proof that you have overclocked really anything, weather it be your CPU or GPU. Even your RAM (Although no one has done this so far, you could be the fist!)

Just post an image or proof of some sort, and I will add you to the spreadsheet. The results will be found at the end of the thread.

Who can Join?

EVERYONE!

I am a noob at overclocking, can I join?

Of course! I will be more than happy to help you with any overclocking questions that you might have. If I don't have the answer, I will at the very least lead you in a trusted direction from folks over at another forum. (PM me if you would like to know, as I don't believe advertising is allowed, please correct me if I'm wrong)
There you will most definitely get the help you need as they are all very respectable overclockers and benchmarkers. Think your rig is the best? Chances are someone there will beat you. Oh and not to mention that they hold several world records.

Feel free to PM me at any time!

It was a 6950, a Gigabyte 6950 to be precise.

Read this to first to make sure you understand everything that's going on: You must login or register to view this content.

Then read this to actually overclock your CPU: You must login or register to view this content.

Basically:

Go into your BIOS and set your voltage to manual for now. (If you want to use offset voltages read the link I will supply at the bottom) Leave it at what the stock speed is. Go to CPU Clock speed and change it from whatever your current stock clock speed is to +1. For example if it is at 32 (3.2GHz) change it to 3.3GHz (33) Your chip should easily be able to remain stable. Now, download Prime 95, Realtemp and CPUz (In the thread) and run Prime 95. Make sure to monitor your temperatures using Realtemp. Select in place Large FFT first, and make sure that it doesn't BSOD.

If it does BSOD, don't worry. Go back to your BIOS and up the voltage by 0.1V. For eg. if it was at 1.43V change it to 1.44V. Go back into Windows and try again. Make sure that you can pass at least two hours of Prime 95.

Disable CPU spread spectrum in BIOS as well, as it can cause instability.

This is essentially a very small version of what you really have to do. I STRONGLY recommend to read those links.

Although I don't have a HD6950(XFX HD6950 DD XXX Edition) that can be unlocked to an HD6970, I just thought I would overclock my i7 2600k :P..

It's fine, but I hope you do realize running at 1.5V+ is asking for a death sentence correct? I hope you didn't just leave voltage to auto for this, or your chip will die in months.

Oh I know that I just did it for the sake of the forum. I manually adjusted certain things in my BIOS to obtain this. I just wanted to see if my setup could handle 5Ghz, and it did but really I'm running 4.7GHz at 1.395v just a little under what yours is running but thats under load. When its not I think it goes around 1.43v.

i have a AMD Phenom II X4 965 and ive gotten it to 4.1 before but it wasnt stable enough to play really, i usually put it at 3.7-3.9 for a stable clock though i saw a youtube video where a guy had his at 6.5 or something like that

these dont move in temp either
