The graphics card on this is called Intel HD Graphics.
When I check if my computer can run a game like Sims 3 it says no. You must login or register to view this content.

The funny thing is my computer ran Mafia II fine even with only 64 mb of dedicated memory. How come? and can I run sims 3? I havent tried it yet. Can I increase my dedicated memory?

You can't change dedicated memory to the video card. You may be able to add a bit to shared memory in bios.
But, before you can judge about running sims or mafia, does the website say you can't run mafia or does it say you can?

After all you're just best trying the game itself, those websites are not 100% accurate.

its not so much memory for your games that will be the huge issue, its the speed and shaders other things to that determine if your gpu will play that game. yes its important as using swap space off your HDD is something like 100x slower then ram memory is but point is you can get a usb and use ready boost also take your ram and times it by 1.5 or something like that and thats what your paging file or swap space should be set to on your hdd ready boost and your swap are used when the game runs out of memory on your gpu which it will very quickly

My gpu recently failed (EVGA GTX 560 2 gb) and while I'm waiting on my replacement I'm using my onboard, which is an Intel HD Graphics 3000. I've been playing on it the best I can while I'm waiting and I can run alot of things well. So you should be able too as well. I don't play sims much but considering the HD 3000 is roughly the same as a GeForce G210 or Radeon HD 5450 I think you should be fine to run it decently.

Any other complaints? -.-
Now then, It's equivilent to a 5450, the HD3000 is an onboard video card, of course and actual gpu will be better. Kid.

you also know straighning the intel HD 3000 will overheat the cpu and since 3000 is in a ivy bridge which already has overheating problems. you can and will kill the cpu
