Okay so about 5 months ago my xbox got RROD (Red Rings of Death) and I have yet to send it away because I really dont know how to, and dont feel like doing it. I want my parents to do it but they won't. So what would be my best option. Get a PS3, with none of my friends, and starting all new games, OR sending my xbox away and getting it fixed.

The only thing I would ever play is online... never offline games... and if I DID buy a ps3, how much would a xbox 360 elite 120gb with RROD sell for?

RRoD 360 might sell for around 60$ on eBay, I really don't know. But yeah go w/ a PS3, the breakdown rate of 360s is just too high.

No but if you were me... try and look at it from my perspective... all my friends are on 360, I have a 360 account thats good, and I have all the games I want for 360... but I dont like having to pay for LIVE... what would you do?

My uncle in laws 360 had RROD and I fixed it but heres the trick lol so when I first tried the towel trick it worked all you have to do is like just after you do the towel trick you just unplug and plug the wires of the xbox back in it's not that hard to do it BUT MY xbox 360 we sended it out so might as well do the towel trick because if you send it , it'll take a LONG time to come back I'm taking about maybe 2 or more months lol

Well they is a cheap and easy way you can temp fix your xbox so you can take it to a shop and sell it with false details if you wish

Its something to do with wrapping it in a couple of towels and leaving it turned on with RROD for about half hour or something, Then taking the towels off and leaving it off for around 10 to 20 minutes, Turn it back on then it should be working.

I know somebody that had RROD and did that above with the xbox sold it to a cash converters with fake details then got a ps3

It's all about the 360 for online. If you're going to be playing with friends all the time then get a 360. On the other hand, the PS3 is a gaming monster. By far the superior piece of kit. It's all down to what you do online.

Just buy the $10 kit to fix your 360 off of eBay.

i was a 360 fan at first, then i went through 3 rrod n gave up n got myself a ps3, im glad i did get a ps3 as IMO its the better console for gaming, entertainment etc etc also your saving about £30-£40 a year by not paying fees to play online, if you do the maths, 3 years at £40 = £120 sell rrod 360 for £60-80 maybe more if lucky = £200 minimum, get a second hand ps3 with a years warrenty from cex for £170 + 2 games for £30 from gamestation, and thats before you sell games etc for your 360

stick to 360, purely because you will enjoy it more with your friends.
