Okay so about 5 months ago my xbox got RROD (Red Rings of Death) and I have yet to send it away because I really dont know how to, and dont feel like doing it. I want my parents to do it but they won't. So what would be my best option. Get a PS3, with none of my friends, and starting all new games, OR sending my xbox away and getting it fixed.

The only thing I would ever play is online... never offline games... and if I DID buy a ps3, how much would a xbox 360 elite 120gb with RROD sell for?

If you truly think that you want to fix your XBOX,then do it. You may aswell,seeming as everything you have to do with gaming is on XBOX.

If you got wired connection and money to pay for live. Go for that. If you got wireless, I think it's dumb to get a 360, then a extra wi fi on the back of it for $100, or whatever it is.
But, if you still have all your games for the 360, get that, it's a bitch to buy a ps3, then games, when you have games already for 360.

Huh well Ps3 Slims are pretty cheap and the online is free which is what you said you spend the majority of the time on the console doing, but if i were you i would inquire about getting the 360 fixed also if it's under any kind of warranty get it fixed it should be cheap if not free and if it's not under warranty get some local gaming store to have a look inside it if they offer that kind of service.

All you have to do to fix the RROD is send it to microsoft. Get there number on the internet and tell them you got the RROD and they will ask for your address and they will send you a package. You put the xbox in the package and send it back to them and they will send it back in about 2-3 weeks. They will not fix it if you have broken the seal behind the faceplate. Dude, I had the same problem excluding the RROD. The switch to the ps3 was the best thing ever

So much cheaper..hardly breaks down...online is still great and improvements are coming all the time

I still got my xbox but theres no point.. once you get a ps3 and brag to your mates about it from your opinion they usually tag along
