Yes, even if just 1% of planets were to have similar conditions to Earth, there would be billions apon billions of planets with life.

Its just amazing how big our universe is .

Truly is an amazingly interesting subject to study.The increasing size and speed is also fascinating too.

Just wondering, why the galaxy? If there's any life outside our solar system, we won't find it unless it's in our galaxy.

I'd say there's life out there in the universe. Probably not as evolved as us, but probably single cell organisms as they seem to thrive the best in extreme conditions.

Ive heard that in a History Channal episode once haha. It would be great to find out officially that there is life on there planets. As NASA states, "No one knows if the universe is infinitely large, or even if ours is the only universe that exists." I believe that if it was forever expanding, then that would give the possibility of life on another planet an indefinite amount of time for it to happen. So I think that if not now, eventually life will exist elsewhere.

How can you be sure? Maybe our race is one of "less-evolved"-that there are far more advanced technology out there. We think that we evolved the most because there are no other races out there that can compare to us. (At least that we know of.)

The word probably is very important in my sentence. We don't know for sure that there are not more advance "beings" that us. It's just not as likely as there being single cell organisms. Multicellular organisms generally have a pretty fine tolerance to things like heat. So with the extreme conditions on most planets between there night and day, it's not very likely that much else would survive. As the god squad keep telling us, we're lucky to be in the "Goldy locks region" Where things are just right. It's still possible for things to be more advance than ourselves though. If another place did managed to get multicellular organisms on the go, they probably would be more advance by now. If you look at earth, a lot of it's more evolved life was knocked out when the dinosaurs "all" died out. We really can't tell because as someone metioned earlier, there could be mutilple universes. For all we know, our universe could be like an Atom in a much better universe.

Well I'd have to disagree on that, I'm sure there were people that have said "Why worry about other planets? We're never leaving earth" and it wasn't mighty long ago that we set man on the moon.

You never know what kind of advancements we'll make in space travel, it most likely will not happened in our lifetime, but possibly one day it will happened.



To be honest, I really don't think we are the most advanced civilization in the universe, probably no where near it.

And remember, space is infinity, which means an infinite amount of planets, I'm sure there are alot of planets with living conditions like the earth has.
