(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok a while back someone posted about referees giving the top Premiership teams the big decisions. Just like Phil Dowd bottled the Carling Cup Final - Man U v Villa, Howard Webb who is supposed to be the best ref in England did the same and fu**ed up today in Chelsea v Villa!

Villa had a clear penalty refused(as they did v United) and Chelsea should have had at least 1 player sent off (as United should have). Refs are obviously being intimidated into giving the big teams the decisions their way as they are afraid of what will happen when they referee one of these teams home matches. Or else they are just being paid which wouldnt be surpising whatsoever.

Terry's challenge Milner was disgusting, and showed exactly what im talking about. THERE IS DEFINITELY SOMETHING INFLUENCING THESE REFEREES DECISIONS! Its ridiculous.

Am i wrong?? Of course not...

2. Terry's tackle was just mistimed and yes his fut was very high but whos to say he wasn't trying to stop? but he did catch him so should have been a red.
3. I don't think referees are intimidated by bigger clubs. Chelsea vs liverpool champions league (2005) the ball was not over the line what i am trying to say is it happens to every team a referee has to make a decision it may be right it may be wrong.

1. Name the decisions. Your probably moaning about a free kick or something that Chelsea didnt get. Name one decision that was in any way nearly as significant as the decisions that went against Villa!

2. It doesnt matter if he tried to stop (Which he clearly didnt try anyway). The rules are - that if feet are off the ground, its a straight red! ... let alone if the player made contact, which Terry did! (MAKING IT EVEN WORSE!!!)

3. Chelsea and Liverpool are both the sold called "bigger" teams. That sort of decision has no relevance whatsoever to what im talking about.

Your argument is crap mate, everything you have just said is just absolute shite... None of your points justify the refs decisions or Terrys tackle in any sort of way!

End of story..

If you dont admit thats a red card your an idiot!! Its clear Terry even knew it was a red, so he acted like a victim afterwards to manipulate the refs decision (which he did).

Terry is scum... simple as.

Who’s Jim Erased?
tbh even though refs aren't great you have the luxory of an action replay.

IMO it was a red card challenge, but the protocol the referee took was within the "rules" :

1: Terry did get the ball (Well, he brushed the ball slightly). As the commentator said when the ball is bouncing, 99% of the time the studs have to be showing to block the ball.

2: The referee acknowledged that Terry caught Milner by playing the advantage (As Aston Villa could have counter attacked. Also shows that the ref thought Terry made some sort of contact with the ball first). If he thought there was enough intent to send the player off, he would have stopped play straight away.

3: After play had stopped, he pulled Terry back and shown him the yellow card. He thought he got some of the ball but cautioned him/warned him that the way he went about the challenge.

This is the bread and butter of being a referee. Sometimes they get it wrong, sometimes they are spot on.

Think about it this way, look at any big derby in England (Liverpool v United for example). Most challenges are "legal" but full blooded. If the ref acted too hastily and shown red cards instead of warning the player/cautioning him first, every match would be abandoned due to lack of players.

i totally agree! these referees are just not as good as they used to be :/ theyre too lenient and miss many things and favour the larger teams...
