You give everyone a gun and crime will go down. Think about it:

If guns are restricted, normal civilians cannot get their hands on a gun. Meanwhile, illegal guns are imported and given to criminals. Now the criminals have weapons, and the law abiding citizens do not. If you give everyone a firearm, criminals will think twice about mugging, and or robbing you because everyone has a firearm.

Not only will your crime rate go down, if your a small country in danger of being invaded, it will be much harder to take your country if every citizen has a possession of a firearm.

The Japanese wont care. They had many islands of theirs taken. What is one more island gone mean to them?

If you would have done your history homework, you would have known that the nuclear bomb takes over 2 years to develop. The US was only in possession of two nukes. It would be a fruitless effort to waste it on an empty island.

Japan was also developing nukes, and we had no idea if they had finished making one. It was either blow them to smithereens or get blown up.



As a commanding standpoint, would you rather have a few innocent Japs die, and have no casualties on your side, or invade the country, and get over a million casualties on your side. Not only that, the air strikes and artillery that it would take to invade would have killed plenty of innocent people as it is.
