A report has emerged which reveals that most PlayStation 3 consoles are actually bought second hand.

A recent survey by PS3PriceCompare has revealed that out of over 1000 owners of the console, 33 per cent had bought their's second hand.

The second method which was used by 26% of people was to sign up via a mobile phone contract and receive the console as an incentive.

Interestingly only 24 per cent admitted to paying full price for Sony’s console, while the remaining 17% of people were given the PS3 as a gift (14%) or won the console in a competition (3%).

Finally 78% of the 1017 people that took part said they had bought a second-hand game for PS3.

Mine has been repaired once as well, blue ray drive ****ed up

Those are some cool stats. I have bought all three of my PS3's from best buy. It's good to buy second hand but you have to make sure they work fine before you buy them.

i bought mine brand new, but i bought my xbox refurbished .

i payed full price for mine
$400
but at least I got 2 year insurance on it on top of the 1 year included warranty
and if it breaks on that insurance i still get the full $400 back ^_^

is that just the people they interviewd cuz theres more than 1000 users

Well obviously but they'll have made sure that the group tested covers all the people who have got PS3's
