It had nothing to do with tobacco.. it had to do with the depression in the early 1900's and the fact that Mexicans were taking american jobs by providing cheap labor to farms. The Mexicans caused so much tension during the depression that something "had" to be done..lol Since every Mexican crossed the border with weed plants, the government knew they smoked a lot of weed and started making it illegal.. first California and then other states followed.

These are facts.. of course there is more to it.. because other states followed.. but this was the start of the illegalization(not sure if its a word..lol) of marijuana

Actually, you need not to ask how many deaths were caused by it while actually smoking it, but how many deaths were caused while people were still under the influence of it, change your facts it does a lot more than minimum damage too your lungs. THC builds up more rapidly than standered tobacco. Also "weed" is made in pill form for those how actually need too take it medically, people just choose too smoke it on their on behalf. I know much more than this as my sister is a trama room nurse and two of my aunts are nurse practicioners.

what are the side effects?

•Tremors (shaking)
•Nausea
•Headache
Awesome faceecreased coordination
•Breathing problems
•Increased appetite
•Reduced blood flow to the brain
•Changes in the reproductive organs

Like tobacco, marijuana contains many chemicals that can hurt the lungs and cause cancer. One marijuana cigarette can cause more damage to the lungs than many tobacco cigarettes because marijuana has more tar in it and is usually smoked without filters.

actually, you are pretty alert and coordinated while on it. and of course statistics say there are many deaths caused by being under the influence of it, its because if ANY drug is found in the persons system, the people Automatically blame it on the drug.

OK w\e. it damages your lungs. it doesnt cause cancer, it doesnt kill you.

the positive effects overcome the negetive ones.

lol, Im not really a "history boy". Im more modern day. Thanks for telling me about this. But still, it didn't get illegal because of being a deadly drug and causing deaths like people killing people (as YoMama said) but it was economy reasons.
Aight Peace
