Yes, but he has about doubled that debt. Read my other posts in this thread for many MANY more reasons why he is a bad president.

Most presidents will spend their first term trying to clean up the mess of the president before them. The bigger the mess, the tougher the cleanup.
Some things he's done aren't perfect, but it does look like some good is being accomplished. The problem is weening Americans off of the Uncle Sugar teet. The tax breaks are great, but they wont fix our debt.

Like I said read my numerous posts in this thread first I make valid points against him in them and I don't wish to recap everything.
