BASIC INFORMATION

Hi. The other day, I was picking a few seeds out of a nug I had, and I got a great idea. Why not grow weed?! I don't plan on mass-producing or selling, my interest stays simply within the realm of harmless experimentation. That all being said, I'm not all too worried about getting caught or spending hundreds of dollars on intricate set-ups. I have seeds, dirt, Miracle Grow, a cup, a shot glass, paper towels, and safe water. Oh, by the way, did I mention I'm growing it outside? Yeaah.

PROCEDURE

  1. Acquire materials. ✓
  2. Get clean tap water (allow chlorine to evaporate). ✓
  3. Soak seeds in water for a few hours. ✓
  4. Germinate seeds. ✓
  5. Plant the seeds. ✓
  6. Fertilize, water... general housekeeping.
  7. Determine if it's male or female. Kill males (I'm not making hash).
  8. Forcibly flower them (submerse them in darkness).
  9. Harvest.
  10. Dry.
  11. SMOKE! Awesome face.

Yeah, that's right. I just taught you all how to grow.

PROGRESS

5/14/10 - <3 my seedling:

The white bit is the first root. <3 how cute.

5/15/10 - My little babies sprouted their first root to about 1/4 in. I pulled some good soil out of the little compost pit I made, and buried it. First watering today.

5/17/10 - The first circular leaves have developed on the stalk. Woohoo! Only one more until I get my pot leaves, bahahah:

It's hard to see, but those little leaves indicate a healthy plant! It's around 3 inches now.

Just another picture. Same as the one above it. It's ADORABLE!

CONCLUSION

Yeaaaaah buddy. That's really about it. If you want to know anything about it, feel free to PM me. It's actually a pretty interesting science. But, since I'd like to see some discussion about this from the stoners around these parts... who here would grow if they could? What are your opinions on growing?

It's a lot more work then it's worth, unless you are growing a shit load of it. One or two plants not worth it. Also if you get caught, not saying you will but if you do 1 Plant = 1 Pound of weed adds up fast man...

Updated. I just planted the first seed. Everything's going well, although it's only been a few days. We won't really know how things are until next week.

The work is simply half the fun. Remember, I'm growing for myself, not to sell. I'm just experimenting. As for getting caught... they're going to be around 10 inches tall, although I might make a little tree (using the Bonzai method). I'm keeping it pretty much under the radar, though, but I appreciate the concern.

You're fifteen, aren't you? What did your parents have to say about this?

Interesting thread.

The beauty of being fifteen is that I have enough freedom to... I don't know... grow cannabis without my parents realizing it. I haven't spoken to them about it, as they'd disapprove, and I'd rather do this without any obstacles other than time.

Like I said, this is strictly for educational purposes, but whether or not my parents would believe it is another thing.

I'm not sure if I believe it. If it is, is the smoking part really necessary?

Have taken Marijuana before, a friend of mine was experiencing leg troubles so he took some to numb the pain. I took some with him. Didn't enjoy it in all honesty.

I wouldn't recommend it, but if you truly are fascinated by the idea of growing it, then go ahead. If you're willing to face the possible consequences of being caught that is.

Smoking it is and isn't necessary. The only reason I plan on it is because in the past, I've smoked some really terrible weed. I want to see if what I've grown is awful or not. I've been smoking on and off for the last two years. I've been clean for a while though, as my lady disagrees with it wholeheartedly.

Like I said, getting caught is not a concern of mine. The only people who get caught growing are the people who sell it on a massive scale. I won't even be selling a tiny bit of it.
