Domain registrations do not always indicate product names, though often they do serve as an indication of future plans. It is known, however, that there are currently at least four more Call of Duty games in development. There is the recently unveiled Call of Duty: Black Ops, being developed World at War studio Treyarch, as well as three as-yet-untitled projects. One is an action adventure title from Sledgehammer Games, another is a project presumed to be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 at troubled dev house Infinity Ward, and a third is reportedly in development at Raven Software. There is also a massively multiplayer title in the works in Asia, though a developer has yet to be attached to that project.
Activision outlined its expansion plans for the Call of Duty franchise in March, when a new COD business unit was unveiled shortly after the ousting of Infinity Ward's cofounders. The firing of Jason West and Vince Zampella led to at least 35 other resignations from Infinity Ward, with many key staff jumping ship to the two executives' new studio, Respawn Entertainment.

Activision have recently got a hold of some new domain names that could possibly indicate what the next Call of Duty games could be about. As we know, Activision had a plan of going through the time stages from WW2, Vietnam, Modern and now possible Future and even space. Do you think this is being taken a bit too far? Advanced Warfare seems a bit too close to the name of Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, so maybe there could be some dispute from Ubisoft over that name maybe? I can't see how Space Warfare would be interesting without it going away from the setting of Call of Duty now. Who would you be fighting against, aliens? Shooting laser beams across a vacuum? So what are your thoughts? Taking it a bit too far forward maybe? Getting a bit money hungry? Or maybe they might not actually be Call of Duty games.

Yeah I doubt it would go halo, but future warfare may not be too far away. They've overplayed the WWII era for sure, and with a Modern Warfare 3 they may not want to put out another MW type of game, so why not make a future warfare? I'd be fine with it, as long as they keep it realistic like the other CoD games.

I think they're just purchasing the domains to "have them." You guys all remember how that stupid ZiiP site held You must login or register to view this content. hostage because they wanted to use it as leverage against IW for such things as early betas or free copies of the game. I think they did this just so no one else could get them, whether or not they ever use them will still be up in the air.
