Can someone tell me how the Stock Market Works? (FTSE)

I can't seem to get my head around it beacuse you type it in on Google and it comes up with all these long words that have no meaning to me.

So i would like someone to create there own pice of text on how it works so i can understand it, im only 14 and i don't have a clue...

Well i want to undersatnd this beacuse my dad's mate started studying it and he has made millions. Now honestly you should see his house! And if you think his house is something you should see his backgarden its like 5 miles big!

Um, well he didn't get millions just because he studied it. He probably invested money in the right ways. And he probably invested a lot of money which you urself probably don't have.

my dad's a stock broker, and if you ask him or anyone else that's qualified right now, they'll tell you right now's the worst possible time to invest in anything because the market is only going to get worse.

well of course everyone wants to be a millionaire,its just i find stock and all that for business people or people with fulltime jobs or somthing idk. I also think its a bad idea if you dont know what it means and i dont know what it means
