Chicago Tribune would like you to meet 'Chrissy Pronger'

Before Game 5, Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Chris Pronger(notes) was a thorn in the side of the Chicago Blackhawks. Whether it was helping to shut down Chicago's top line or diverting attention away from his struggling team by stealing pucks at the end of each game, Pronger has been the most-talked about subject in this Stanley Cup Finals.

With the Blackhawks a win away from winning their first Cup since 1961 and Pronger coming off his worst game of the series with a minus-5, the Chicago Tribune decided to bask in the glory of the worst game of his career with a special pullout poster in Tuesday morning's edition.

Meet Chrissy Pronger:

It's a shame the Trib couldn't have released this before Game 5. It would have been fun to see Michael Jordan waive one of these posters from the luxury suite he was in, and count the number of NBC shots of Vince Vaughn and Jeremy Piven plastering one of these against the glass every time Pronger entered the zone.

No word if the Philadelphia Daily News or Inquirer are currently printing up "Patricia Kane" or "Dorothy Byfuglien" posters to be handed out before Game 6 at Wachovia Center.

Pronger was asked about the poster during media availability on Tuesday. His response? "I don't read what you guys write. Good or bad."

LOL And heres Adam Burish calling Pronger out on this topic. Burish, if you watched the Series, missed 3 games, and had 0 points.

I love the part on the Poster of the "100% Chance we'll change our minds if we sign him."

Love him or hate him, Chris Pronger is one of the best defensemen in the league, and was the best defensemen of the 2010 NHL playoffs.

Invalid.

Keith outplayed him.

And he may be good, but he trys to sell things to much.

How would say Keith outplayed him in the playoffs? More points? No. Better +/-? No. Neutralized other opponents star players? No.

So how did he outplay him? The Blackhawks outplayed the Flyers as a whole because of the depth on the lines they could roll out (BHawks could roll 4, Flyers could roll 3 and a grinding line). Pronger shutdown one of the league's top scorers in Kovalchuk. Shutdown the top goal scorer in the playoffs in Cammalari, and held the top two players on the Blackhawks (Toews and Kane) to a combined 10 points in 6 games. The best offensive line was probably Hartnell, Giroux, and NHL 2010 Playoffs Points Leader Danny Briere.....considering the 2nd and 3rd points leaders were Toews and Kane, and did almost nothing in the SCF....who do you think was focused on them? Pronger. He shut them down. It wasn't until the BHawks started mixing lines did they start dominating, because the 3rd pairing couldn't keep up with the likes of Sharp, Hossa, and either Toews or Kane was put on them. Even with the almight -5 game, Pronger still ended with a +5 in the playoffs because he just constantly shuts down star players.

Keith is a shutdown defence - Pronger Pinches = Arguement Invalid
Hawks have 5 defencing rolled - Philly has 4 who play half, of course Pronger will be on for more goals - Argument Invalid
Neutrilized other Star Players? Marleau, Thronton, TOP POINTER Sedins, Burrows, SullivaN. Those arn't stars? = Arguement Invalid.

Pronger may have shut down Towes/Kane, but he Struggled Vigoursly with Bolland, Sharp, Versteeg.
I would say the only player he actually shut down in that series completley was Byfugleon, and thats only because he constantly played dirty with crosschecks, That werent called.

Kovalchuck had what? 10 goals in 20 games with New Jersey? He isnt much of a scorer with them. = Arguement Invalid.
Mike Cammalari, yeah he shut him down, but look at the size diffrence.
1 Stat your forgetting is PIM, Where Pronger also led Keith, as well as the entire Playoff league.
The Bold actually made me laugh. Briere/Giroux/Hartnell were nowhere near the best, or they would have won the cup. The only way they could score was standing in the crease ( Against the rules ) and block Niemi from going anywhere in there. That to wasnt called.

Now Keith, for one, is a Soldier. Lost 4 teeth, still played that game, (Pronger took a stick tapping him on the face and fell like a bitch) Keith out skated Mike Richards to many pucks. Shutdown the Thorton/Marleau/Heatley line (Top scoring line in the Season).
Keith Shut down the Sedin/Sedin/Burrows line (Amazing Skill with top point getter on it), And still went +2, with 17 Points, 1 point behind Pronger....

So yeah, Im pretty sure Keith Played much better...
