I ref in hockey. 3 Cross checks to the back = Minor penelty, no matter if the feet are moving. Byfugleon would stand infront of the net, while Pronger shoves his stick into his spine. No calls. Your arguement = Invalid
Im pretty sure if a player wins the scoring title in his career with 1 team, then scores only 10 in 20, Im pretty sure he's cooled off. Your arguement = Invalid.
No you can't stand your feet in the crease and block the goalie from making the save...Thats goalie Interferance buddy. I would say 90% of Hartnells goals should have been called back for that reason. And Byfugleon doesnt stand in the crease, he stands on the outside, but with his long reach he can put his stick in, not his feet. Crosby doesnt stand in the crease, if you're skating at the goalie trying to dangle him, or in Crosbys case, on the ground sliding, and you hit the goalie, thats not interfering him from the puck, he had a chance to stop it. If your standing in the crease, blocking the goalie from getting across the crease as the shots taken, thats goalie interferance... Learn the rules dummy. And Giroux/Briere/Hartnell didnt have the most points this Playoffs, Kane/Towes/Byfugleon did, and Briere's line played just as well in the SCF as Kane's except Quennville is a much better coach, and noticed how bad they were doing. Giroux's line played against the Campbell/Hjalmirson defence, not the Keith/Seabrooke, making it easyier as you would say.
And fatigue isnt much of a factor... Flyers played 1 more game than Chicago... & 3 of their players, 1 main guy on the team, came back the series before, Named Jeff Carter, who in turn played against Keith in the series, and How many goals did he score? 1 I think, an Open net goal...
And How bout your Captain eh? How many goals he score? 1 On a Powerplay, when Keith wasnt on.
Keith shut down Richards and Carter like he was supposed to, holding them to 1 goal each, neither when he was on. Byfugleon had 4 goals. Kane had 3....
Im pretty sure Keith did better with his assignment then Pronger
Your just a fanboy. Thats why I hate Phillidalphia fans in any sports, biggest fanboys...
You can put your hands on a player and push, and that's still being physical. Sorry, but it happens all the time in hockey. Unless it's a blatant shove to the back with the shaft of the stick, you're not going to get the call in the NHL. Your argument...not matter how much you ref, is Invalid. Refs in the NHL are a BIT smarter than you about it.
He won the goal scoring title with 41 goals in 81 games. He scored 41 goals in 76 games this season. Sorry, your argument - Invalid.
You can move through the crease and knock pucks in, especially rebounds. You can stand in the crease and knock deflections. So long as you're not touching the goalie, it's not interference. And NHL Refs will differentiate an interference penalty, and when you're knocked into the goalie, which Hartnell frequently was knocked into him...AFTER the goal crossed the line. Sorry, your argument again... Invalid.
And speaking of which, Hartnell stands just on the outside as well, and like Byfuglien, if he has to, position himself inside the crease to knock a loose puck in. In fact, any player in that position will do that. So long as you don't interfere before that goal crosses, you're good. And being knocked into the goalie by another player, though they have to be on the goalie's team, will not constitute as interference. Sort of like that BS call against...I forget, some blackhawk player was ridden into Leighton by I think Timmonen. That was a bad call.
And not really with Crosby's case. In that case, Crosby was sliding through the crease before he touched the puck, and had touched the goalie first. By textbook definition, since no Flyer touched him on the way in to make him slide (it was actually a collision with a Penguin), it should have been goalie interference.
I didn't say in the playoffs, dummy. I said in the SCF. And Briere, had the most points in the playoffs. That's all I said.
Carter was coming off two broken feet...not one, but two, and wasn't completely healed. He was the better option though than the next player on the list...either Daniel Carcillo or Andreas Nodl. Carter with two broken feet is better than both those guys. Not an excuse, but it is the reason why he didn't play well. Try having Kane or Toews play after coming back from two broken feet, that weren't completely healed...see how well they do.
And Richards, look who he was put on the line with. I prayed Laviolette would change that, but there wasn't any other real options since the Briere/Hartnell/Giroux line was playing so great (and the best in the SCF).
I'm a fanboy...yeh, ok. Use some more lame internet fad names, see if I care (I don't). You're the worst type of fan. Someone who refs some other league that no one cares about, and thinks they know everything.
Oh, and before I was a Flyers fan...I was a Blackhawks fan. So eat it. I follow a tradition in my family that was passed on since my great-grandfather. You root for the hometeam. So you want to call out the rest of the fanbase, go ahead....though most of them are smarter than you. I can at least say that with an unbiased opinion because I've been part of several, and yes...Flyers fans are one of the most intelligent fanbases I've encountered.
