In my opinion it's a yes, because without good grammar, people "wuold t4lk l1ek th1s 4ll th3 t1m3" and well, that's annoying, so grammar, does it influence on how people look at you?

caps dont really matter to me in the beginning of a sentence but i usually tend to use my google toolbar to check how to spell a complicated and some tricky words and it just comes down in the drop down menu.

college is a whole other story. i know how to write properly but as far as unimportant emails, texts and even forums, i could give 2 shits. who cares if u spell a word incorrectly online, at least u can read it, am i right or wrong?

Actually, educated people have a hard time understanding how the way regular people type with just lower-case letters. Starting off with a capital letter is the best and easier way to go.

Like some guy said, grammar influences a lot because If I read a thread and it is written "li3k tihzz",I would think that the person who wrote that just wanted people to think that he is "1337" and actually I would rather see a good thread with a good grammar as it looks more appealing and look like the person put effort into it,here's an example of a thread with good grammar:You must login or register to view this content.

Do a barrel roll!
I quite dislike when people deliberately write in text format, it mainly shows immaturity and a desperate way of trying to fit in.

It's just become a habit to type properly now. When you're writing long as reports like I do at work, it's just second nature.

To and fro the island.
The thing that makes good grammar superior is the fact that anyone who understands the language can understand what is being said. Due to the way many people talk through text messaging, many more people understand the use of acronyms now, but there are still people here and there that do not understand what is being said. Personally, I like using good grammar. I like to portray myself as an educated person, and see no reason not to do so seeing as to how I am educated.

I don't judge people who don't use good grammar, because a lot of people that could use great grammar simply choose not to. It's the internet, and this is a public forum. We can't, or at least shouldn't flame others due to their grammar because of that. The only time I have an issue with someone's grammar is when I simply cannot understand what someone is trying to say.

To be fair we all make mistakes in life including with our grammar, should we be hung drawn and quarterd for it? The Grammar Nazis will say yes but as long as you can read the text so what, it's not the end of the world is it?
