(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); The bible, everyone's heard of it, most people have it, a very few have read it from beginning to end. While a great read and a few words to live by in the book, is the bible really the word of god or just a book created by some guy in the desert back the day

So... I shouldn't question your faith? Why not?

Why? For bringing an important topic into a debate section?

Originally posted by itzbigant91 View Post
now let me ask what would u have to say when i say what all u think is wrong? answer that question truthfully when u can and try not to put down other people next time, thank u.

I would say atheism is the most rational position given all available evidence.

ok, whatever u say is right. whatever u believe is way more superior than mine or anyone elses. why even bother? your going to say your belief is much more superior than mine, correct me if i am wrong. i would say Deism is the most rational over Atheism because say if someone shows us a computer, and tells u that all the individual parts that make up the computer just came about by chance, that they somehow just formed into a perfectly working computer system all by themselves, u would be foolish to believe the person. if u use it, wont let us believe a statement like that. but if someone tells us the ever growing creation and its perfect order happened by chance, we are under no obligation to believe them. from our own experience we know everything created has a creator. why then should the creation itself be different? there isnt anything known to man that created itself, correct?

Your sarcasm just shows you have nothing of substance to offer. I showed you why I care about religion. Hypocrites ftw, as you continue to argue despite the fact "I'm not worth it."

Not only is that unoriginal, it's also highly illogical.

1. It requires an all-powerful being that is unexplained. Where did he come from? If you say he was always there, well then why couldn't the universe have always been there? If you say he created himself (nevermind the fallacy) then why not just skip the step? There is no evidence for such a being.

2. Nobody is claiming the universe assembled itself by chance. We have laws of physics and scientific, peer-reviewed theories with thousands of data points that explain very well how the universe came to be, how law arose, and how it changed once it existed.

3. There are numerous other refutations to the blind watchmaker argument, including entire books. You may find this one of interest: You must login or register to view this content. .

What? Grammar - use it. That was probably a failed attempt to plagiarize, but I'll withhold from making conclusions.

Be careful with that strawman, he might get hurt. Your unsuccessful attempt to copy a well-known theist argument is in vain.

Edit: Please note that next time you decide to lie about your age, it might be helpful to change your profile data. (**Now commencing excuses for how that age got there, ie you didn't care enough to bother filling in the right date when registering.)

You were unsuccessfully copying a well-known argument for intelligent design. I argued against it. That's how debate works.

You said you were about to graduate college. I went on your profile and saw that it said you were 18. It's pretty pathetic you had to lie about your age to make a point. Isn't there a commandment against lying? You're truly a good Christian.

I'm an ex mod because I left the site for a while for personal reasons. I could have kept my position, and, as far as I know, I'm still on good terms with Outsider.

What do you mean? I know your age because you posted it for the entire world to see.

You keep saying my replies are garbage, yet I seem to be the only one posting anything of substance. Your argument consists of, "I will believe what I want and nobody can change my mind. If you don't believe in fairy tales I will not listen to you."

I've said it before and I'll say it again: grow up.

No fear, Pricey's here!

Don't know why everyone is arguing this in here because there is a God vs Fact thread stickied. I'll go with it until the mods decide to merge though.

I've seen some intelligent design posts in this thread. You all suggest that everything has a designer. You say that life is to complex to have formed from nothing, and only a designer could have made it. Well if thats the case, wouldn't the designer of the designer have to be more complex. Then the designer of that designer would have to be more complex. Thus we have infinite regress. The only way to analyse a infinite regress is that the suggested theory is bollocks.

We also know that the universe could start from nothing, so don't try pull the infinite regress move on me Winky Winky

Scientists have studied the great flood and there's proof that it never happened. The bible is just a popular fiction story which has been passed on through the years but because it's been going on for so long it's now believed to be true.
