The Bible is a work of fiction. The "Word of God" surely doesn't reside within its pages; the only real value it actually has is to offer peace to the ignorant and to help spread some positive morals.

Think about it: out of the several authors who contributed to the Bible, there are countless contradictions in it. Unless God is fickle and changes his mind every three hundred pages, then I'm pretty sure that takes away from the validity the Bible claims to have. Look at this situation:

Person A: Hey, I need you to help me.
Person B: Sure! What do you need help with?
Person A: Proving a point.
Person B: Oh, okay. I know everything about that! It's very easy.
Person A: Awesome! Tell me when you can help.
Person B: Will do!

Person A leaves...
he returns two hours (300 pages) later.

Person B: Yes?
Person A: Erm, so, can you help now?
Person B: With what?
Person A: Proving a point?
Person B: Oh, no. I don't know anything about that. It's very hard.

So, does Person B seem reliable to you?

Guess what? The Bible does the same thing: it makes a claim, and then contradicts itself.

I do believe that the Bible is fiction and I feel that it is somewhat ridiculous that some people actually believe everything in it. The Bible just seems to be a series of stories that give you morals to live by in everyday life and difficult situations. There's nothing wrong with that, but I don't think it's fair to claim it's the word of God. If that's all it takes to be the word of God, why has no one made a statement supporting the theory that Aesop was a God? :???:

The Bible wasn't even meant to be read by the general public, which, if you ask me, is a pretty evil thing for the Church to do. Thank God for Martin Luther!
