(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); A gamer, who goes by the name "iapetus," pointed to European law Directive 1999/44/EC, which states in part that goods sold must "comply with the description given by the seller" and that all necessary features be "made known to the seller at the time of purchase." Clearly, the fact that Sony remotely and voluntarily disabled the Other OS feature makes the case that the description "at the time of purchase" is now invalid.

Item Refund: £71.49
Item Tax Refund: £12.51

This refund was through Amazon, so don't know how Sony will be responsible for any of it. However, Amazon has now placed a monetary value on the loss of the feature, so we have something to go by.

The description at the time of sale for ALL FAT PS3 owners is now invalid, in all countries. I will see if there is a US Law that applies, or if someone else can, post it.

Let the law suits begin.

Well it's not meant for a other OS so it's their right to take it off.
