For those that do know I would just like to say she is a noob. My school spent 2 periods explaining how Facebook and such had added to her being pushed to suicide by flaming of her Facebook.
For many with a facebook I am sure you all know of the magical, Delete, Report, and Block buttons. As with any other web page there are measures to prevent this. My school had specifically designated how Social Networking sites were bad.
Lets put it this way for all the girls on NGU. If someone calles you a whore/ho/slut/etc would you commit suicide or would you contact a mod and have the SOB deleted? Common sense
She could have easily deleted, blocked, or reported the people but was too worried about "loss of friend count"
Then parents hear this on the news and they freak out. There are ways around bullying. You have to be very shallow to let someone calling you a name dig into you that much. ie) some one calles you a ho. honestly i think you would know if you were a slut or not. I just think people are over reacting to the case because bullying is a part of life. There will always be people who are looked down on. How many of you NGU members have flamed someone? called them a noob or said they were trolling? How many of you members have been called a noob? lost rep? or have been flamed before? YOU MOVE ON. Phoebe Prince could have easily stopped the flaming of her facebook and public schools are big, you can find other friends and you can avoid people.

I totally agree. People really need to think of the effects that they have on people. Especially when they are in a group. You might think that you are having fun and joining in bashing a kid but really the way that kid must feel is so horrible. Just the thought of people pushing other people to the point of depression is sickening. It is stories like these that bring the reality of douche bags in high school having too much control. This kinda stuff needs to be monitored and parents and good friends need to pay attention too. Im sure a depressed kid shows signs 90 percent of the time. I just feel like i want to find those kids who started bullying this girl and ask them how they feel about what they did and then call them a ****ing douche bag lowlife I dealt with a couple bullies when i was younger but was lucky to have such a high self esteem and was able to just ignore it all. I hate people who bully
