I only meet one of your criteria of being a nerd, but I still see myself as a nerd. Socially impaired, grammar Nazi, IQ of 136, taking classes that are for the grade above me, built my computer. I think I could be considered a nerd. But your criteria for being a nerd is far more harsh than necessary. You can be a nerd without meeting any of those criteria. You might want to rethink how you word your thread.

Be proud of your nerd-ism! Don't hide it in shame. Proclaim it from the mountain tops. I AM A NERD! Being a nerd isn't a bad thing, so long as you have friends who share similar interests. The people that I think the OP is referring to are what I call "no-lifers." The ones who have no "IRL" friends, the ones (adults) who play WoW in their mothers' basements, the ones who speak fluent Klingon, and the ones that can recite every line from the original Star Wars Trilogy perfectly.

There is a difference between nerds and "no-lifers."
