Brief summary of what the agreement will allow the government to potentially do: Access hard drives of any device connected to the internet (cell phones, MP3s, iPods, and most importantly, COMPUTERS). If this agreement passes the government will be allowed to access your electronic devices WITHOUT consent or warrant and use evidence inside of them to press charges against you, hence, illegally downloaded music, videos, games, etc. on your hard drive you will be held accountable for.

My opinion: Our rights as citizens of a democratic country have been diminishing more quickly than ever before. First there was the patriot act (USA) passed in 2001 which allowed the government to tap our phones without a warrant and now there is ACTA, which if passed, will completely get rid of our privacy on the computer. The government keeping this quiet is another thing that pisses me off, which is why most of the people that are reading this have never heard of ACTA. This is completely against the fourth amendment (USA) and the government is starting to hold way too much power.

Daddy's home.
Ok let's get one thing right first. That women in the video should be sacked straight away. Her voice is annoying going up at the end of a sentence.

Now on topic. If they want to get access to my computer, I want access to MI5, CIA, NSA, Pentagon all the secret organisations by governments. But guess what, that won't happen, so why should they be allowed to see what's on my computer? This is taking copyright way too far. This should be a breach of our privacy, which I thought that we had. Obviously I was wrong.

Crumpets and tea?
When I was a kid media content was was freely offered to consumers all the time. Radical outlets like public libraries, radio stations and television networks vied to display all manner of media to consumers freely. What the government call “hacking and the illegal distribution of software and media” is today’s tech equivalent, and studies across the interwebz show that this so called “piracy” has increased profits to the media companies.

Something that the government need to wake up to is that they will never control every aspect of peoples lives. Say they pass this law what do they think will happen everybody will just stop hacking and downloading media illegally? Will we bull some genius individual out there will find a way around it and that way will be used across the internet.

Excuse me now, I have to go off and download some hardcore porn so I can enjoy it before the Internet is locked down by oppressive legislation.Winky Winky

This bill infringes on way too many rights among many nations of the world, we need to get the word out to oppose ACTA. Any ideas on how?
