Great thread, Drackos.
At this point, I feel it is time for humanity to take a step back and reflect and consider the future. Things like the Industrial Revolutions were critical turning points for humanity, and the prominence of computers, cell-phones, etc. in our daily lives is once again changing the way humanity communicates with one another and the way people act and truly find their voice.
With modern civilization structuring our lives almost entirely, branding certain actions right, and others wrong without question or consideration, and determining how things are dealt with, and so on, it is hard at this point for us to change our course. Nearly impossible, actually. Humanity didn't have to be a species that constantly fights for dominance. Unfortunately, with the way things happened when the earliest of civilizations were being formed, that's how it turns out. Now, thousands of years later, the domino effect of so long ago continues. Unless every single person pursues and accepts a new path for humanity, that domino effect will continue until it finally erupts into a nuclear war.
Aside from war, it's time for humanity to start to look at our planet, and what things like the Industrial Revolutions have led to, greatly threatening our environment and the very well being and survival of our planet.
These things cannot be stopped. At least, not without the biggest amounts of reform ever seen in this world, and not without every single nation getting on board. It's like people always say though: We learn from our mistake.
Perhaps being plunged into a nuclear war, erasing the massive accomplishments of humanity, will lead to a new, brighter future for us. Or perhaps end the human race as a whole. Either way, the worst event, a nuclear war, might be the one kind of reform that is needed to change the course of humanity.
Just a thought.
Perhaps a nuclear war would be the change in course for humanity. As Einstein said, it would certainly move us back thousands of years, leaving us with only sticks and stones.
And if an international unity could be found, which none has been, it would certainly change the course of humanity. Things like NATO, which has already served its purpose, prevent us from moving forward in ways, but protect us in others.

The only countries that I can see trying is North Korea and Iran at the moment. But whenever it starts, I can see America being their for no reason what-so-ever. They just have to be in it. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if it would be America starting it for oil. I'm not just having a dig at them, but that's my view. I could see it being America-Russia, or America-China, due to their communist beliefs. Once the war in Afghanistan has been won, then hopefully the world can get on a bit more. No wars and so on. If a country doesn't like a country, then they should just ignore them and cease trading and shit. They don't have to fight each other. That proves nothing. If we want the world to be around in say 5000 years time if it's not naturally gone, then we need to start learning to get along. Not sounding hippyish or anything, but we do.
Unfortunately if there was a World War 3, most likely it would be a nuclear war, and we as humans would destroy ourselves within a day.
