Right.
1) Ignore the few previous posts which say to format your PC, that's way overkill. Ignore the previous post saying to defragment your PC too, that does nothing virus/security related, it simply re-organises system files.
2) AVG isn't great, my friend had AVG, I gave him a copy of my Norton 360 and I told him to run an AVG scan, (he found no viruses), he then installed Norton 360 and it found 27 viruses, that in itself should say something. I suggest buying a better product, I have only tried Norton 360 but I've been using it 3 years running and it has not let me down, the few viruses I have encountered it gets rid of without even clicking anything
3) If Norton 360 isn't possible money-wise, I suggest doing a system restore, to a date before you got the virus. Depending on whether it's a "clever" virus will determine whether it will go. If the virus is coded well it will avoid being deleted by the simple task of system restore, if it's coded by a noob then that should fix it.
4) If number 3 fails, then I suggest, when you start your PC, don't close anything, press CTRL + ALT + DEL, go to Task Manager and go to processes, anything which looks suspicious make a note of the file extension.
5) Locate the file within your system and delete it. This, again, like number 3, is a very basic way of getting rid of the virus and if it's coded well it will not work, unfortunately.
This is all I know, sorry if it does not work
