Surely it is possible to give it 110%. If you think about it logically. Lets say that accomplishing a goal is 100%. When people ask you to give 110% they want you to over achieve. Now lets say your coach asked you to score 20 points in the basketball game and give it 110%. You went out and scored 30 points. Since you completed the task of twenty points (100%) and then added ten extra points, you actually over achieved of what your goal was. hense you gave it 110% because you achieved more than what was required of you at your giving it 100% mark.
Hope that makes sense
I get what you are saying and i agree you have over achieved your original goal. BUT, irrespective you still have only give 100% of your capacity to achieve that extra goal, you might say to not get that extra goal wasnt putting in 100% effort in the first place, but say 90%. So really, if you've acheived more than you expected (110%) all you have done is found that little bit extra inside you to have given a full 100%
