(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Whilst being very bored and randomly surfing the internet, I thought to myself, "What is actually the longest word in the English language." So as any sensible person would do, I began searching google. I was incredibly surprised to discover that the commonly believed longest word, antidisestablishmentarianism, is in fact not even close to being the longest. At only 26 letters, it is actually quite short. So as I was searching to find the longest word, I came across this word

This word has appeared in the American Chemical Society's Chemical Abstracts and is thus considered by some to be the longest real word.

This word is not technically a competitor to be the longest word in the English language, as it is a chemical term, which are exempt from the record. So, after being amazed at the length of this word, I decided to share it with you guys Smile.

If you are wondering, this You must login or register to view this content. says that the longest word in the English language, other than chemical, medical terms, etc., is in fact:

This is the longest word in any English dictionary. However, it was coined by Everett Smith, the President of The National Puzzlers' League, in 1935 purely for the purpose of inventing a new "longest word". The Oxford English Dictionary described the word as factitious. Nevertheless it also appears in the Webster's, Random House, and Chambers dictionaries.

Also, in case you care Smile, the longest name of any place in the world is:

If you guys find any other really long words, please feel free to share them. And if you find one bigger than any of these ^^, you may just get yourself a reward and a spot in this thread. (Chemical names shouldn't be hard, as the site says that they can go above 1,000,000 letters :O)

If you read the whole post, you would have seen that I said that it was not technically a competitor for the record. I also posted the actual longest word directly underneath it. Please do not post without reading the full thread.

For many years, three basic definitions of reading have driven literacy programs in the United States (Foertsch, 199Cool Man (aka Tustin). According to the first definition, learning to read means learning to pronounce words. According to the second definition, learning to read means learning to identify words and get their meaning. According to the third definition, learning to read means learning to bring meaning to a text in order to get meaning from it.

Well, based off the definition, I would say that is not reading Happy.
