(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Whilst being very bored and randomly surfing the internet, I thought to myself, "What is actually the longest word in the English language." So as any sensible person would do, I began searching google. I was incredibly surprised to discover that the commonly believed longest word, antidisestablishmentarianism, is in fact not even close to being the longest. At only 26 letters, it is actually quite short. So as I was searching to find the longest word, I came across this word

This word has appeared in the American Chemical Society's Chemical Abstracts and is thus considered by some to be the longest real word.

This word is not technically a competitor to be the longest word in the English language, as it is a chemical term, which are exempt from the record. So, after being amazed at the length of this word, I decided to share it with you guys Smile.

If you are wondering, this You must login or register to view this content. says that the longest word in the English language, other than chemical, medical terms, etc., is in fact:

This is the longest word in any English dictionary. However, it was coined by Everett Smith, the President of The National Puzzlers' League, in 1935 purely for the purpose of inventing a new "longest word". The Oxford English Dictionary described the word as factitious. Nevertheless it also appears in the Webster's, Random House, and Chambers dictionaries.

Also, in case you care Smile, the longest name of any place in the world is:

A hill in New Zealand. This Maori name was in general use, but is now generally abbreviated to Taumata. The name means: the summit of the hill, where Tamatea, who is known as the land eater, slid down, climbed up and swallowed mountains, played on his nose flute to his loved one.

If you guys find any other really long words, please feel free to share them. And if you find one bigger than any of these ^^, you may just get yourself a reward and a spot in this thread. (Chemical names shouldn't be hard, as the site says that they can go above 1,000,000 letters :O)

The spaces are only there for pronunciation purposes. They are single words. Don't argue with me, for I am right and know what I am talking about. Also, if you look at the actual site, you can clearly see that they do not have spaces in the word, but when I copy pasted the words, spaces were inserted.

Daddy's home.
I'm pretty sure that scientists just make up random shit for chemicals. Nearly all the proper chemical names long and hard to pronounce, never mind spell.
