we can't have a cure for the cold because it is highly adaptive, and is constantly mutating/evolving. there are so many strains, its near impossible to cure them all. Same goes for the FLU. HIV is pretty much constant, and is therefore much less of a hassle to try and cure.

Yeah but what if this method of curing aids messes up and aids evolves, we're in the exact same position as the cold.
