ONLIVE it's almost here, the things you need to know. What is ONLIVE for those of you who haven't heard of it well ONLIVE is a MicroConsole that works with your HDTV, PC or MAC. For $99 you get the MicroConsole, a wireless controller, an HDMI cable and a voucher for a free game (Upto $50). You however will need High Speed Connection (at least 3 Mbps, 5+ Mbps recommended) to use the service. Games generally cost the same as they do in stores (around $50 for new AAA titles with the price dropping as a game ages). You can also rent a title for a 3-Day or 5-Day pass for a lower cost roughly $3-$5 for a 3 day pass or a little more for a 5 day pass.

The good thing I can see about OnLive is that you will never have to upgrade your Graphics card or PC just to be able to play that game you want on High Settings. Think of OnLive as the Netflix of gaming, it is free to sign up on there website and they have mentioned they will be implementing a Flat Rate service fee that will cover older titles and indie titles but the newer titles will not be covered under the flat rate fee. OnLive is set to start shipping December 2nd and already have a big game catalog.

One Major question I had, which I was not able to find an answer to is. If your friends buys a boxed game and you get it from OnLive can you play together?? I think we all need this answered before we make the decision to get it or not.

New Info: Dec 3rd

The OnLive news keeps coming, as the service has announced a new subscription model that will allow users to pay $9.99 per month and get unlimited access to several available games, including “recent, classic, and indie titles”.

The ‘OnLive PlayPack’ will launch on January 15, with over forty titles expected on that date. Currently, though, there are only a dozen confirmed titles, which you can check out below:

* Defense Grid Gold
* F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin
* King’s Bounty: Armored Princess
* Ninja Blade
* Prince of Persia
* Puzzle Chronicles
* Saw
* Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X.
* Tomb Raider: Underworld
* Unreal Tournament III: Titan Pack
* Wheelman
* World of Goo

For the most part yes, I might have taken a sentence or two from Onlive's site and another site but for the most part it was me.

I hope it is a huge success to take some wind from Microsoft and Sony's sails

In Flames Much?
Hmmmm

The beta ages back, hearing bad things all the time.
Mainly due to the connection problem and server distance....

Also like the fact they did hype this to beat game consoles then said it was more for casual users lol

US release only ?

OnLive will be more of a fail than the PSP Go. People won't want to stream games.
